I`m a BIG boxing fan from back in the day;....1970`s onwards. To be fair to Naseem (and I`m not a fan) his loss to Barrera was actually much LESS worse than it appeared. Because of Naseem`s avoidance technique, when he was "tagged" it was made to look much worse because Hamed was off his feet and "flying" backwards at the time. Barrera himself said that was his toughest fight;.......he said;...."Naseem was SO fast and SO powerful,....I had to be very careful."

Barera did his homework. Hamed needed space to fight. Bararera stayed close. One loss sadly ruined his mental state. He had one more fight and his heart was gone.

I met Naz about 2 months ago outside my barber shop. Asked what he was doing in the area as my shop is in Walton On Thames and he said he was buying a car. We spoke about boxing and I can honestly say that he is the most likeable and humble guy. And yes, I was totally star struck. Got a picture of him and me together and that pic is now proudly up on my shop wall

Back in the 90s when he was at the top of the world I worked with Nas. Up until I met him I thought he was cocky arrogant and full of himself. I have to say he was great to work with, a really nice guy. So different from the ring. My mobile phone rang at the time and he answered and had a chat with my friend before giving me my phone. I still have the signed boxing glove he gave me. He was really friendly and chatty interested in my life and background. Proper nice bloke.

Watched all of Naseem Hamed’s fights. Most exciting boxer I’ve ever seen. What an unbelievable talent! Just really disappointed the way he treated his legendary trainer Brendan Ingle.

Ingle’s grounded, disciplined approach versus Hamed’s desire for control and independence. Despite the fallout, there is mutual respect, and Ingle always acknowledged Hamed’s natural talent, even as they went their separate ways.
