@cusssystem8013 I doubt she made a penny from that last fight. Goldstar pulled a few strings to get her on that card by all accounts. Non-televised fight and an expensive training camp. Not a good combination. Good job she's getting a few quid for flogging scam NFTs and a new boyfriend to fall back on who definitely makes all his money legitimately and isn't a convicted drug trafficker...

@@Wilde-Runner Shannon Courtenay came around at a time when Matchroom needed female fighters as their then TV broadcasters, Sky, basically dictated that there had to be at least 1 televised female fight on each show. Matchroom and her management team pushed this narrative that she was the girl-next-door who turned her life around with boxing etc. etc. etc. and for a short period it worked. She was getting opportunities in & out of boxing that very few other (and arguably more talented) female fighters got. The issue with female boxing, more so in some weight classes, is that there isn't a depth of talent. As with the Courtenay v Bridges fight, 2 average fighters, with the right people behind them, can fight for World Title way before they should be. Courtenay makes out like she's a big puncher, who loves a scrap but as soon as she's dragged into a fight, she can't cope. She may look good on the pads and 10 second clips on Instagram, but it's all style and no substance.

This is the right attitude from Fran, it's refreshing to hear, she's not looking for easy fights on the way up, so many have gone that way and been found wanting, she's right about her confidence and where it's been found.

Women's boxing has really developed a lot in terms of the skill and athleticism on show in the last couple of years. Shannon Courtenay was not fighting in that time. Luke it did for Ronda Rousey in the UFC when she came back after the Holly Holm loss and fought Amanda Nunes, the sport has passed Shannon by. She's got a lot of work to do to resurrect her career after being outclassed last time out.

@manladuuu Fran Hennessey fights up at Super Bantamweight. Courtenay probably could make it down to 122lbs. Not a hope in hell she's getting down to 118lbs again though to fight for "her world title". At this stage of Courtenay's career, and off the back of that last performance, I reckon 1 of those misfit boxers like Elle Brooke would give her a run for her money. That's how far Courtenay's stock has fallen.

Not really. She'll be seen 100x more people on Sky who will rate her for her boxing & not who her dad is. All Eddie does is hype his stable to his fanboys who care more for him than they do boxing. Seen by maybe 20k people at best on DAZN, reliant just on Instagram for clout to people who never watch boxing. Fran's done well on Sky thus far, loads of activity on big shows
