I still get teary remembering when his father ran out of their house to hug me….he didn’t want to let go. My tears remembering that moment are dripping onto my iPad as I type this. Onions! Wow. When I was 13 I lost my mother who was 38 to leukemia. She could not find a match in time. That was in 1988 I made a vow that when I was old enough to get on the list to be a donor. I've been on the list for over twenty years and I got a call 2 weeks ago that I may be a match. I hope and pray I can help this person so that they can be a productive part of society. And if they have kids their kids will not loose a parent. And if the person still has their parents they won't have to bury a child.

Update: It's been 8 months since I was able to donate to someone. The process was done at a major hospital in Atlanta Georgia. I'm not sure where the recipient lives or anything about them. I did check the form yes if the family would like to reach out. I work for the railroad and my employer was great to allow me to do this, as well as my wife. It's more to it than just saying yes. Would I do it again, absolutely so many people die without or waiting on a match. Just the thought I may have helped something gives me a good feeling. And honestly at this point in my life good feelings are a good thing. If someone reads this and have thought about going on the regestery but haven't please do. You can't put a price on life. :)

The donor looks more like the boy's mother than his actual mother. That's amazing.

Wow I am so touched by this. I have never known anyone with cancer but this video was very emotional for me. This is so inspiring!! I am twenty years old and to know she is just two years older than me goes to show her strength. So inspired I just signed up for the national registry to become a doner ! Thankyou for this really. 💕

It’s even more beautiful to see how true and down to earth these people are. "Because it’s the right thing to do" was the most simple and most beautiful thing I ever heard.
