Unique and pure? How many shonen animes follow the same tropes? Lets see…a seemingly brash young boy who is looked down upon has a dream of becoming the best at being a ninja/hero/magician/swordsman/etc…discovers/gains a great power and uncovers a great evil plot that soon embroils the whole of society. He slowly trains and becomes the greatest and is instrumental in undoing the evil plot…geeeeee, what anime does that basic formulaic heroes trope does that pertain to? In nearly each one of those, the hero is often an orphan or at the very least, fatherless. How is that unique and pure? I’m not saying it’s bad, but your statement is generalizing romanticizing all anime. I think there are a lot of great animes, don’t get me wrong….I’m not even saying the formulaic heroes journey depicted in many popular anime is bad (I enjoy Demon Slayer, Hunter X Hunter)…but I would never say they’re all unique and pure 😂.
