Hi, Richard. I was a 'Boy' Seaman equivalent in the R.A.N. Called JR's or Junior Recruits, 15 yrs old. At sea, and deployed to FE &SE Asia at 16. Hence I have thought often about Cornwell, for many years. Why he stayed at his post amid the carnage, death and mayhem happening around him? Because, being a boy, that's what you did. Until ordered to do otherwise. No doubting his courage, for even being there in the first place. But the narrator puts it into somewhat of a perspective at the end. Thanks Richard.
