TV series adaptation coming soon. Author is gonna be involved in production. All interviews say 2025. I cannot wait for Roran Stronghammer moments in Eldest. Down side, Disney is doing it. Disney, please don't race swapt the main cast. There is a lot of diversity in the books already. And cast Dwarfs.

Eragon unfortunately failed due to the fact that many fans of the books despised it because it didn’t follow the original story or something along the lines of that. Which is honestly sad because the movie wasn’t that bad at all, hell, the design of the dragon was really well done, loved the movie.

Alright, I'm going to go over all (or most) of the differences from book to screen (I'm not going to go over the things they left out because then this would be way longer than it already is). Disclaimer: I haven't actually seen this movie, so I'll just be going off of what you've said in the video (please correct me if I get anything wrong here) and I'll be going in order of what you've said in the video. Warning: This will contain spoilers for the Inheritance Cycle. 0:22 Durza isn't actually a sorcerer, he's a being known as a Shade which are humans who have been possessed by evil spirits, either through a sorcerer being unable to control the spirts they've summoned or through sorcerers summoning spirits into the bodies of others, as is the case with the Shade Varaug. Durza was originally a young sorcerer named Carsaib, who was orphaned and taken in by a sorcerer named Haeg. Haeg was killed by bandits a few years after he took Carsaib in and in an attempt to avenge him, the young sorcerer summoned dark spirits that ultimately overwhelmed him and took control of him, turning him into a Shade. Another thing here is that no one really knew about Durza, as soldiers are told to kill Shades on sight. 0:27 It's not actually revealed until the second book, Eldest, that Arya is a princess, and in the books, she's actually an elf, not a human. Also, In the books, Durza and a band of Urgals were waiting for Arya to pass while she was ferrying the egg between Ellemsmera and the Varden, and ambushed her in an attempt to steal Saphira's egg back (in the book, the egg had been stolen by Brom with the help of his friend Jeod 15 years prior to the book). 1:07 There were never soldiers recruiting villagers for the army in the books. I think the man begging the soldiers was supposed to be Horst, the village smith, but, his sons Albreich and Baldor, were never signed up for the army. 1:32 In the books, the reason Sloan is terrified of the stone in the books is just because it came from the Spine, where Sloan's wife Ismira had fallen to her death years ago and that the villagers of Carvahall generally believe it to be cursed. Also Sloan didn't actually kick Eragon out in the book, his daughter Katrina and Horst come in, Katrina having heard the commotion and having gotten Horst, who pays for the meat in exchange for an apprenticeship from Eragon over the summer. 1:36 this just didn't happen in the books, Brom was a storyteller in the books, not whatever he is in the movie. 1:50 Instead of being teased by Roran upon his empty-handed arrival, he is actually scolded by Garrow for excepting Horst's charity, but calms down after Eragon tells him that he'll pay it back. 2:06 In the books, Roran isn't leaving so that he won't have to join the army, but to get an apprenticeship at a mill in the neighboring town of Therinsford so that he can make the money to court and marry Katrina. 2:52 Saphira had already hatched weeks before Roran left for Therinsford. Also, he immediately knew that she was a dragon. 3:20 in the books, the gedwey ignasia was actually just a silver mark on the Rider's palm. 4:11 Durza was only tasked with interrogating Arya, not getting rid of Eragon, and Arya never gave up anything to Durza (And I missed this earlier but I don't think anyone knew about Saphira's hatching, because Brom clearly doesn't know about it until Eragon asks him about dragons, which tipped him off that Eragon had one). 4:32 In the books, Brom tells this story when the traders come to town and there's something of a festival in the village. And there were no guards around to hear this because they would have immediately reported to Galbatorix, and Garrow tells Eragon and Roran that if the Empire found out that Brom had recited the story, he would not live to see another month. 4:57 Eragon never taught Saphira to fly, she learned to herself when Eragon would leave her alone. 5:09 This just didn't happen. Saphira (and dragons in general) are ever growing, there isn't this phenomenon that makes them full size. 5:20 In the books, Saphira didn't tell Eragon her name. After his talk with Brom about dragons, he comes to her and tells her the names of all the dragons that he learned from Brom, and she choses the name Saphira, after Brom's own dragon. 5:28 I've touched on this a bit, but Eragon didn't sneak into Brom's house. The day after Saphira hatched, he went to Brom and asked him all about dragons and their riders, which he does answer, and makes him suspicious about Eragon, and tips him off about Saphira. 6:26 In the books, Eragon finds Garrow barely alive and covered in strange burns (Brom later reveals that it's from Seithr oil) and he and Saphira get him to the village, where he dies a few days later. 6:44 This scene is a combination of two from the book, one takes place right after the Ra'zac leave Sloan's house, and they spot Eragon, but he's saved by Brom who, after getting Eragon a safe distance away, takes off Eragon's glove to reveal the gedwey ignasia, the second scene is when Eragon is planning to run away with Saphira, and Brom finds him, having already talked to Saphira and gained her trust. 6:52 Eragon actually runs before Garrow's funeral, and Brom even asks him at first why he's leaving before then. 6:58 They actually didn't get horses until they got to Therinsford, where Brom purchases the horses Snowfire and Cadoc. 7:02 Saphira was just with them the entire time, so this scene just for the most part doesn't happen. 7:17 The location of Farthen Dur and the Varden wasn't actually revealed until Eragon and Murtagh had escaped from Gil'ead with Arya. 7:25 Brom and Saphira had already met while Eragon was stealing stuff for his journey. 7:53 In the books, both a dragon and the Rider can live on while the other dies. We see this most prominently with Galbatorix's dragon, Shruikan, who he stole after the death of his first dragon and while doing it he killed Shurikan's first rider, yet Shurikan lived for about a century afterward. We also see this briefly with Glaedr after Oromis's death, but Thorn did kill him shortly afterward with a blow to the head. Also, it's not the case that all dragons will die if their rider is killed, or all Riders live if their dragon is killed. It's stated several times throughout the series that most pairings that were broken by death result in the other one dying (mostly by suicide) or losing their sanity. Also, Galbatorix never actually wanted to get rid of Saphira, as stated by Murtagh in the third book, Brisingr, he actually wanted to use her to repopulate the entire dragon race, as the last female dragon. It was also stated by Blödhgarm in the fourth book, Inheritance, that he would have been furious had he found out that Lord Bradburn had tried to kill Saphira at the battle of Belatona. in the fourth book, Inheritance, that he would be furious I feel like this is the part where I mention that in the books there are two other dragon eggs that are unhatched, and both are male. I should probably also mention that the only other dragons, Shurikan (Galbatorix's dragon) and Glaedr (the dragon of the Rider Oromis, who's existence and by virtue Glaedr's are kept a secret from Galbatorix) are males, so if Galbatorix kills Saphira, he essentially kills off the entire dragon race. Also he doesn't want to kill Eragon either, because he wants him to swear fealty to him in the ancient language. And Murtagh states during the Battle of the Burnig Plains that he's not supposed to kill him. In fact in the fourth book Inheritance Galbatorix literally saves Eragon's life when Murtagh tries to kill him when the two are forced to fight until one can't continue "anything short of death." 8:36 Urgals are not former rebels, they only rise up and join the Varden under Nasuada's command after they are freed from Durza's control and figure out that Galbatorix won't do anything about it. 8:53 Brom never did that to put Eragon in his place, he had been training him in swordplay everyday on their journey. 9:11 Murtagh wasn't following them in Daret, he had heard rumors of a new dragon rider and had started following the trail of the Ra'zac in hopes of finding him. 9:19 In the books, Eragon meets Angela in a port city called Teirm when they go there to meet an old friend of Brom's, a man named Jeod, to look at shipping records of Seithr oil so they can find the lair of the Ra'zac. 9:24 in the books, Angela only read Eragon's fortune for him because her werecat, Solembum, had talked to him, and Angela reads the fortunes of those Solembum takes interest in, one of which being Eragon's mother, Selena. 9:28 In the books, the ambush of Urgals was in a town called Yazuac, where Brom and Eragon find it pillaged and all of its villagers dead. Then a pair of Urgals (not sent by Durza) attack them, and one knocks Brom off of Snowfire, but Eragon gets the Urgal's attention and gets them to chase him, but finds himself cornered and then casts Brisingr. 9:58 Brom and Eragon had already built a saddle for Saphira and Eragon had already learned to fly Saphira. 10:08 In the books, it was actually Saphira who made them see as one, with her dragon powers. 10:12 In the books, it was actually Urgals who were going to attack Brom, and Eragon uses a spell to knock them all out, leaving him unconscious for two days, and leaving Brom and Saphira to finish off the Urgals, and earns him a scolding from Brom when he wakes up.

Apperently this rant was too long to fit into one comment so here's a part two. 10:16 In the books, the Ra'zac aren't killed until the third book, Brisingr, and killing them off now would change it so much that making a sequel would be rendered almost impossible, as the Ra'zac are crucial to the second book, Eldest, were they come back to Carvahall to capture Roran to lure in Eragon, and the village essentially declares war on the troop of soldiers sent to collect him, leading to Roran's betrothed, Katrina, getting captured by the Ra'zac and taken to their lair in Helgrind, a rock formation near the city of Dras-Leona, leading Roran to lead the villagers of Carvahall across the Spine, to the port Narda, on a barge to Teirm, pirate an Empire ship, cross a whirlpool, and make it to the country Surda who supports the Varden and is the current base of operation after Nasuada moves them there from Farthen Dur. Then at the start of the third book, Brisingr, Eragon and Roran raid Helgrind, rescue Katrina, and slay the Ra'zac and their mounts/parents, the Lethrblaka. 10:23 In the books, Eragon doesn't learn that Brom was a Rider until Brom is on his deathbed. 10:51 Durza never lured Eragon to Gil'ead, instead, he was captured by Urgals and brought there, where he meets Durza and finds out that Arya is an elf (in the books, Eragon had scried Arya in his dreams. 11:42 in the books, Brom had already died by the time Eragon was in Gil'ead, having a similar death as he does here, but instead of Durza, it's a Ra'zac who kills him, and instead of an arrow to the heart, it's a dagger to the gut that he takes for Eragon. 11:51 In the books, it's Eragon and Murtagh who carry Arya through Gil'ead, as she's put herself in a coma to slow the poison in her from spreading. 11:57 As I already stated, Murtagh and Eragon had already met, and therefore, he and Saphira had already planned Eragon's rescue. 12:22 As I already stated, Arya was already in the coma when they left Gil'ead. 12:56 in the books, Murtagh was actually extremely reluctant to go to the Varden, as he says that they wouldn't trust him even if he brought them Galbatorix's head. 13:07 In the books, they only traveled through the Hadarac Desert and the Beor Mountains. 13:15 in the books, the boys arrived at the Varden being pursued by Kull, elite Urgal warriors, not one standing less than eight feet tall and very dangerous. In the books, Eragon had entered Arya's mind and she had told him to bang on a rock on the side of the lake and say a phrase to get in, but Eragon bangs on the wrong side, allowing the dwarf Orik to understand that they're on their side and summons the warriors to help them cross, and even saves Eragon from drowning. 13:55 In the books, the boys are "greeted" by twin sorcerers who rummage through Eragon's mind, whilst Murtagh refuses to let them into his head, and Ahjihad recognized him as Morzan's son by his voice. and essentially puts him on house arrest. 14:36 In the books, Durza came into battle after Eragon had been separated from Saphira and Arya, blowing a hole in the floor of the room where he was. And he just came with a band of Urgals around him, he was not riding a dragon. in the books, only five dragons had survived the fall of the Riders, and two of them (three if you count Saphira) aren't even hatched. The only other dragons are Galbatorix's own dragon Shruikan and Glaedr, whose existence (and that of his rider Oromis) are kept a secret from everyone outside of Ellemsmera. Having Durza ride a dragon essentially implies that Galbatorix let Durza use Shruikan for this battle, which he didn't in the books and neither would he. 14:43 Ajihad actually let Murtagh out as an opportunity to prove himself and he did it before the battle started. 14:59 In the books, Eragon has a much harder time defeating Durza in the books, because, as a Shade, Durza is much more powerful than the very untrained rider, and the only way to kill a Shade is by striking them through the heart. In the battle, Durza brings his sword down on Eragon's back, which gives him a scar that will pain him and cause him to have seizures throughout the second book Eldest, until the Agaetí Blödhren (or Blood-Oath Ceremony) when the Spectral Dragon heals him of it and gives him the speed and strength of an elf. When it seems that Durza is about to kill Eragon, Arya smashes the Isidar Mithrim (or Star Saphire), a large red gem about 60 feet in diameter carved in the shape of a rose that sits in the heart of Tronjheim. This not happening is also pretty big, because Saphira promises to heal the gem and is faced with doing it as a coronation gift to King Orik. Anyway, this, along with Saphira breathing fire for the first time, allows Eragon to stab Durza through the heart with Zar'roc.

The red dragon on the caption picture , isn’t in the movie. Aragon is the name of the movie. It’s a great movie, but bad thing is that it’s supposed to be a series of movies. But it’s the only one they made, due to the lack of people watching it. This sucks because it’s a really good storyline.
