Fun fact: The choreograper for this dance actually works with MJ before. SMent also confirmed that this is the most expensive choreography that they have ever spent on a group.
@Saddlemomma4 жыл бұрын
This was choreographed by Tony Testa, the world famous choreographer who choreographed Michael Jackson's "This Is It" Tour.

You see MJ in SHINee for two reasons. First of all, the choreography for "Sherlock" was created by Tony Testa a very well-known "Hollywood"-famous American choreographer who has also worked with some of the most famous artists, productions and dancers in the world, including Michael Jackson. "Sherlock" was the first time SM (or pretty much anyone in the Kpop industry) had ever used a famous choreographer, and at the time, it was the most expensive Kpop production ever. It is known as one of the most expensive dances because well-known, high-demand choreographers charge a lot to work with them. Once again, SHINee were trendsetters and because of SHINee's skill level, SM became the first to see the value in using a well-known choreographer to help create their dances and to strive for a level of choreography and video production that surpassed anything that had ever been done before. Today its common place for Kpop companies to have really famous in-house choreographers, and to seek out people in the industry who are really making a name for themselves to choreograph for them, but SHINee was one of the first. And the second reason is, the members of SHINee are kind of known for their love of MJ and how they just naturally emulate him in their dancing and vocalizations. Michael Jackson has been one of Taemin's idols since he was a little boy. Believe me, it is not lost on him, SM or, least of all, fans, that he dances like Michael Jackson. That's why he is considered one of the top dancers in the industry and why he he is a member of SuperM. If you want to really see SHINee pay tribute to Michael Jackson, just search "Taemin and Michael Jackson" or "SHINee and Michael Jackson" on KZbin. There are several clips of multiple performances where Taemin and SHINee have performed tribute dances and performances and danced to Michael Jackson songs. Jonghyun, the main vocalist of SHINee, was known for the fact that he could sing like Michael Jackson and Taemin is known for his ability to dance like him. Michael Jackson is really popular in Korea and there have been several programs and special stages over the years that have paid tribute to MJ where numerous Kpop groups have collaborated to perform Michael Jackson songs and dances. Because he likes Michael Jackson so much, you should show him Taemin's "Danger." That choreography for that song was choreographed by Ian Eastwood, who is a pretty famous young American choreographer and it is meant to have that MJ vibe in the whole asthetic, from the song to the dance to the look of the MV, etc.

If he loves MJ, you really should have him react to Taemin, the Korean MJ, especially "Drip Drop", "Press Your Number" Performance Video #2, "Ace" Concept Video, and "Danger". He will get a lot of MJ inspired dancing! (Also, remind him that Taemin is the maknae of SHINee.)

I'm totally here for more Shinee reactions. I love EXO but I want more Shinee! A mix of the two would be the best. It's so much to see someone who actually understands music react!

That's SHINee for you, pure greatness. And pretty much no one will argue with you on that fact. LOL :D "Sherlock" is a special song that combines 2 songs from SHINee's album "Clue" and "Note."That's why the title says "Sherlock (Clue & Note)" If you were to look at the album you would see that they are two separate songs, but when you watch the MV the 2 songs are combined to create "Sherlock". The choreography for "Sherlock" was created by Tony Testa a very well-known "Hollywood"-famous American choreographer who has also worked with some of the most famous artists, productions and dancers in the world, including Michael Jackson. SHINee are known for setting trends, never following them.When it comes to their music and choreography they are expected to come up with something that has never been done before, not just in the Kpop industry, but something unique and trendsetting that has never been seen or heard before in the world music scene. Everything SHINee does is unique and groundbreaking and yet it always sounds and feels like SHINee. :D In the "Sherlock (Clue and Note)" MV the boys are Sherlock-like detectives, and if you watch the story-based MV you will see they are looking for clues in the spooky mansion to solve a mystery. This was the era of Taemin with long hair. At this time, Taemin was one of the most popular of the SHINee members with their Japanese fans because the Japanese culture really embraces long hair on guys. Although, in the MV, Taemin's really long hair was a wig. If you watch the regular MV you will see he only has long straight hair during the dance breaks, but during the story sections his hair is much shorter and kind of curly. However, he really did grow his hair long for a while. Taemin with long hair is one of his most iconic looks and many in the fandom were really sad when he cut his hair. I didn't really like Taemin's wig look, but Taemin with naturally long hair is one of my favorites. Many people thing that Taemin with long hair made him look pretty like a girl, but I actually thing its kind of a masculine look on him. Yes, Jonghyun's vocals are amazing. Jonghyun is the main vocalist of SHINee and its his vocals that shaped SHINee's sound and his voice is what first gave SHINee their signature style.

One of the things I love about the guy groups in Kpop is that they are big fans of and influenced by the greats like MJ. I think you two should react to "Jealousy" by Monsta X and "Move" and "Want" by Taemin (of SHINee and SuperM).

It looks like MJ because the one who choreographed it is one who works with MJ before hahahaha

Hi, thank you for reacting to SHINee's "Sherlock" music video & song. I love it. "Sherlock" is one of my favorite songs by SHINee. It has that 90s rnb music (kind of New Jack Swing) in its production. P.S. Sir, I love Michael Jackson too, so I can definitely relate to your surprise & enthusiasm when I first got into Kpop & fell into its deep rabbit hole. No regrets. Also, a lot of Kpop idols were influenced by many iconic artists & are inspired by western & other types of music around the world, but SHINee & SuperM's TAEMIN was greatly influenced by the legendary, Michael Jackson.

@paris2______4 жыл бұрын
@@DancingIsMyAir I know, it's a shame... But, for instance, what about those discovering KPOP? If they can't find common ground for their taste, then they cannot dive deep into the wormhole that is KPOP. Example: my mom like 90s R&B and (meaningful) rap. I started her off with EXO b-sides and RM & Suga's mixtapes. Now, she listens to most of what I do (multi-stan 🙌🏾). BTS is her ult group but she really enjoys other groups and artists... If people don't realize that making such observations is NOT a disservice to the group others are listening to (and many for the first time), then that's less fans to have. What good is that?... [Here marks the end of my tangent. Lol]

All these MJ referrals are annoying. I'd like to see a review of group we are watching. While MJ will never be topped, a constant referral is insulting to the artist preforming and what they have achieved. It may be a reference a particular artist, but that is a compliment to the artist. You make it sound like a dig.
