Bro COMPLETELY unrelated but I have been witnessing/experiencing the same thing over and over again in the last 10 days on youtube (comment sections), the saying "history repeats itself" is so terrifyingly accurate My role is different everytime this happens but: 1-) A person makes a comment about the video 2-) Second person replies, their reply containing: Fixing a grammar mistake or typo of the commenter, slightly insulting the commenter, or disagreeing with the comment 3-) The commenting person replies to the reply, completely chill about their opinion or don't get very offended by what they said 4-) Other people come in and treat this first reply person as they are toxic, like they react even more harshly than the person the reply was directed at 5-) The rest goes different in all these events I talked about so that's all. But its weird how these chains of reactions went terrifyingly similar

@@SuperCatacata well, that's because the conflict is not explained in great detail in the recap (understandably). For example, I really love the conflict between Burckhardt and Aram. Aram have the ability to manipulate other people's mana (magic power) by transfering them to himself. When they meet in the middle of battlefield, Aram "stole" everyone's mana and use it for himself. With this, he is able to defeat the wave of enemies. But this behavior really pisses Burckhardt off since Aram endangers everyone else by depleting their mana, rendering them unable to defend themselves and hurts Burckhardt in the process. After the battle Burckhardt scolds Aram for his selfish behavior. Seeing this, Juliana the Queen that Burckhardt is serving tell Burckhardt to join the MC's party in order to let him learn how to be less strict, socialize with more people while also become a mentor figure for Aram because she thinks highly of Burckhardt. Although she mean well, Burckhardt think to himself that the queen is disposing him because he fails to defend her in the battle and let himself gets injured in the last battle. This sparks a little darkness in his heart. After thinking for a while, Burckhardt as wise as he is decides to swallow his pride, let bygones be bygones and try to apologize to Aram for scolding him... until he saw the boy holds a really expensive dagger. Aram is well known in the town as a thief and just before meeting the party he stole some apples from the market. Seeing the opportunity to set the boy straight up, Burckhardt tells Aram to return the dagger, accusing him that he stole the dagger because there is no way he can buy it. Juliana and other knights then saw them arguing and asked what happened. After Burckhardt tell them that he thinks Aram stole the weapon, Dusty arrived and explain that he did give the weapon to Aram as a gift. Ashame of himself, Burckhardt leave the scene, unable to even apologize properly to Aram. Later, Burckhardt apologize privately to Juliana and plead her to find another people to accompany the MC party in which Juliana decline explaining to Burckhardt that he is the perfect candidate for that job. In his mind, this further solidify Burckhardt's assumption that her majesty is getting rid of him. When he meet the demon in the forest, it is revealed that the wound he received when Aram stole their mana is infected with Blackening. This is why his emotion become so negative and allows Burckhardt to become a demon.

Juliana then feel a deep regret because she fails to understand her subordinate feelings causing her most loyal knight become a demon. This is what let her becomes blackened as well. Yuri also feel the responsibility of letting this happened under his leadership. And the guilt of failing to protect his comrade factor heavily in why Yuri becomes a demon as well. So, yeah the plot is not messy but just not fleshed out in the recap.

and here I was waiting for a plot twist that maybe Aram might be the hidden gem of this story like the rogue like element to twist and reshape the plot in a way no one would see it coming but alas it was all in vein... just a generic group of heroes fighting generic group of villains while saving their generic former fallen friends that turned into the dark side and beating the generic evil king/mastermind and obtaining the generic happy ending... oh well.
