Boy Scouts and Atheism

Atheist boy scout over here. Whole troop knows it, not a big deal. Don't go off of what the loud people in an organization, party, or country do and say. The loud people are always the bad examples.

BSA does not prohibit Atheist. You can define "God" as anything you want, be it nature, or a sense of duty to your fellow man. They do not have an atheist symbol in their emblems of faith however.

Brad Galloway According to the original documentation, that was correct. The organization has since revised their requirements to mandate belief in some sort of deity, not just spirituality or an appreciation for the natural world. It's an unfortunate revision.

If you think we are anything like this,then look at just how many great people came from the BSA. Like Martin Luther King Jr.And there are flaws in any program.

Not only am I a Boy Scout, but I'm also an Atheist. Not only is this a known thing in my troop and my family, but an accepted one too. However, I don't agree with a good portion of scouting ideals. We exist, just so you know. I'd be happy to receive a response to this comment
