I used to dance with an OG back in the early 2000s with my crew in the UK and we used to dance in a club and smash it each week. Many months went by and we danced our hearts out, used to make up routines for that week and following weeks. It was our breakin mecca and we loved it. One day me and a crew member decided to ask the club manger if we could get paid as we are attracting a large amount of people and covering drinks just wasn't cutting it. The club manager looked at us with cutting eyes....... 'What cha mean pay you, I have been paying you!!!' We found out he was paying the OG... Great you are standing up for yourself, but you may need to take this to court. Proof rather than hear say. Texts, emails, letter. Kudos to you for speaking out. I was dancing from the early 2000s but not anymore. Used to idolize the OGs, MZK and the likes of them. Then I realized that so many in the bboy scene (even worldwide) are nothing but hustlers, so I was done with that time in my life to move on in the real world. In this digitally advanced age it's finally so much easier to make an honest living as a dancer, but not so back then, so many of them were/are sketchy AF. Just as an example, look at the questionable decisions and outcomes of certain big competitions. I regret being associated with some of them back then tbh. I just hope that the next generation of bboys will be better. The environment is primed better for them, and they're better educated, a lot more woke and so much more talented...

Contracts yo. I absolutely hate when this happens to b-boys or just artists in general. I've heard of and seen dancers get ripped off. I tell them to work with me and it's night and day difference. Ya'll should be getting paid SAME DAY. None of this waiting crap. Do a show for a client, and they should agree to pay you the same day. I always pay the b-boys I perform with same day. CASH! I'm sick of dancers getting ripped off. Some dancers are either greedy or don't know how to do business. It's unfortunate.

Similar, although not to the extent of yours obviously, happened to me and bboy Remind. Yes I said it, just to 'remind' myself. He was doing alot of artwork and I really admierd his art and his dance ofcourse so I reached out to him to purchase/support one of his art pieces. We were messaging a few times all the way up until the point where I sent him the money and then bam, nothing, just simply took the money and ghosted me. So they be fronting, acting like they conscious and aware, spreading peace and love but that shows a true color of a person. F#$ em.
