OMG, it is so commercialized now. Nothing like Murree we had in 80s. It use to be our back garden from Islamabad. Almost every few weeks we visited & stayed in official guest houses with entire family. But, I wouldn’t go there now as it lost it charm in my eyes. No view of hills & greenery. These old colonial buildings had their charm as that Church was not fenced up & we could see people coming out from Church after Sunday service. I would have preferred a walk from Mall Road to Kashmir or Pindi Point, all the way to end. So many memories! 🥲🤗🤣

I visited Murree a few times. A great place indeed. However, I found that the people there, esp the business owners were very greedy and rude, not all of them of course but those I had interacted with. The responsibility lies with the people of Murree and the administration. So, nice place with not so nice people. My opinion!

More than 80% businesses/Hotels on Murree Mallroad are owned by people from Upper & Central Punjab and KPK. NOT by locals. So, blaming locals is not fair. Boycott Murree trend & propaganda was basically started by PTI youth as Murree was a PMLN hub. So, they started to defame & pressurize traders & locals to support PTI, and eventually succeeded. As far as high prices are concerned, these are high at all picnic points & main markets in Pakistan. e.g. Monal Restaurant Islamabad is more costly than 90% of Hotels in Murree.
