Ashwin despite being the best off spinner in India could not play enough no of tests because the team management clouded by the defensive thinking of the limited over era preferred to have a defensive spinner with better batting credentials.As a thinker and tactician of the game he was of a very high standard and not the kind of Professors( who may be called as Professor in Pakistan) which WK is referring to. One has to hear Ashwin's cricket insights in his You Tube Channel to know about his caliber and acumen. In fact many changes brought into this year's IPL drafting has their genesis in Ashwin's ideas. Since the channel is in Tamil many people do not understand and hence he is underappreciated. As an Engineering Graduate of HCL's Shiv Nadar's mertirious SSN College he is miles ahead of many cricket thinkers and off course most of the you tubers including Mr WH !

On ultimatum: if a youngster like Ishan Kishan gives an ultimatum, that is incorrect. Team management decides. With top senior players, if they are not considered in the playing eleven, and others are brought in abruptly, then the seniors will put foot down and say better to not go on tour rather than sit on bench. Management is at fault for not making it clear. Don’t blame Ashwin.
