Heading to Galveston! (Family of 9 bus life)

It’s a full week as we say teary good byes to Adri and leave Louisiana. But, we’re taking the skoolie to one of our favourite destinations: Galveston, Texas! We are parked at an RV park right on the beach, where the sunrises are breathtaking and the beach walks are amazing! Heading out to hunt for seashells on the beach is one of the first things we head out to do. Next, we head to Galvestons Own Farmers Market, and stock up on chicken, fresh veggies, and some gluten free baked goods. Then it’s right back to the beach to build some sand houses, put together our new Tomshoo portable table, and play some soccer.
At the end of a long day of farmers market shopping and beach play, everyone is hungry, so we cook up a delicious meal of lamb, beet greens, rice, and Greek salad. Then we set up our table and eat together as a family.
Leaving Adri was hard, but it was time to continue on with our adventures. We are loving Texas, loving the beach, and loving the view from our bus!

FYI, some of the campgrounds that's don't let you in has nothing to do with judging. It's an insurance liability issue. They can't guarantee a self converted bus is up to a certain code. Now, that code is a bit of a joke if you consider how crappy RVs are made. Lol Anyways, I just wanted you to know from an ex campground employee, it's not a judgemental thing. I've always traveled in an RV, but I'm super jealous of skoolies.

Y'all had me crying too! I know we still have a couple years but I think about it a lot and just thinking about it makes me emotional! This is one of the main reasons we are doing full-time travel. We want to make those life long memories WITH our children! Can't wait for our bus to be done so we can get to the beach!!! ❤

An emotional time for the family saying goodbye to Adri. It would be nice if Adri and Peyton filmed small videos and the Boyd's could insert them into their own videos. Or maybe Adri could do more on her own channel. Whatever, it's her life and her decision. I was just looking back at some old videos, and the Boyd's first video (on their own channel) was just over two years ago (Nov 2021). Amazing what they have done, many great memories for them (like Adri on Sailing Zatara, travels in Europe). Galveston beach looks amazing. I know Toby likes it; he put a short video on his own channel recently. I assume in the summer it would be totally different. I wonder how busy it gets in the summer. Great fun kicking around the soccer ball on the beach with Michael, Alex, Jesse, and Levi. Toby better at computer games so not good at soccer so had to sit it out (Sorry Toby, just kidding - I know it's likely you filming it all). I was watching the lamb and salad etc on the Skoolie and realized it was Michael doing ALL the cooking. And I was impressed at again seeing the table with y'all seated around it eating your meal. When you were on the older bus a few years ago y'all just sat on the seats eating. A lot of careful thought was put into this bus!! Well done. Maybe y'all have moved on, or maybe you're still in Galveston. But whatever, I look forward to more videos of where Skoolie takes you.

Adri will not be on the Zartara in the middle of the ocean somewhere. So you can drive or fly down when needed. And she can come visit you. Bless y'all hearts.😪😪My daughter moved away 2 hours from us with my grandson who was a baby. We got our grandson and brought him back home. And with in 6 months I told my daughter I will cover bills and anything else they need until his job with Gulfstream starts. I could not stand to be away from my daughter and grandson. Now they live about 20 minutes from me.

Are you planning to swing back by Adri’s in your travels? My oldest is getting serious with a great guy who’s in the military and stationed on the other side of the country. It’s so sad to think of her so far away and her missing out on her siblings growing. We also have 8 kids and it’s so sad to have the first leave.
