Boyesen Rad Valve Test Ride

In this video I test the new Boyesen Rad Valve on my 2013 ktm 250xc in the woods. The rad valve really woke the motor up, it revved quicker, had better roll on power and the throttle response was a big improvement. The mid-range power increase was impressive to say the least. A great mod and highly recommended for riders who want a more connected and responsive motor. Hope you enjoyed!

It actually requires leaner main jets to run properly, usually 1-2 sizes down to start. It flows more fuel for sure. Start there.

I've run Rad valves on a couple of my CRs and I always had to go one up on the pilot and one down on the main and usually had to fool with the needle a little.

@Reed Peterson I didn't notice it, no. But the it will smooth out the powerband a little. On my 125 it didn't hit as hard and came on smooth, The 250 did hit harder, but neither lost anything down low that I could notice.

I wasn't paying attention close enough and i'm not great at carbs but adding the rad valve that makes the bike run leaner so you want to richen the fuel mixture correct? or did i get that backwards? i bought a rad valve and want to get prepared for the install. great test/review by the way

You will need to lower you main by one size to start at the minimum. Thanks for the positive feedback! I am sorry I just saw your post.

I had to go 2 sizes richer because of detonation/knocking in mid range where torque is at its peak.

Did your bike have a stock Vforce system?
