Oh someone could easily read into the events and believe that the brother was in love with OP, and the girlfriend was in love with OP's BF. That they came up with this twisted ploy to break them up so they could each get their respective target. Though the much simpler answer is older brother was envious that younger brother was getting on with life so easily while he didn't even have a girlfriend.
@LadyBern2 жыл бұрын
I'm going to go with the envy. From what the op says of him the picture I get is of a more introverted/socially awkward person. He's 24 and for some they feel they should have found that someone special and be engaged/married with a kid on the way or planning to before he hits 30 (when everyone thinks they're too old and can't achieve anything anymore). Probably already resigned himself to a lonely miserable life as a nice guy. He doesn't have it but his younger brother is going to get it. Desperate he latches on to an immature and insecure woman who would likely cheat or convince him they should open their relationship knowing he's highly unlikely to get another lover. Edit: when I say open it outs so only she can mess around. If he did doubt shindigs else she'd get mad abd call it cheating somehow. We've read and heard the stories.

How OP could feel "responsible for breaking up the family" kind of thinking has me beat. Did she invite the Vampiress to dinner? No. Did she tell the Vampiress to flirt with every male in the house over 3 months old? No. Did she continually interrupt, cut off or demean the weird new gf? No. How can people be so easily guilted into taking responsibility for other people's actions, other people's REACTIONS, and events beyond one's control? It isn't OP's house. It's the in-laws. Regarding the supposed coffee/water stealing story: I wonder if the boss is also going to say that flushing the toilet after use is also stealing company water. If you think about it, flushing uses a heck of a lot more water than making a cup of coffee does. What about drinking fountains and hand washing? I can already see a couple of different scenes about this- in my head so- first, I guess it would better for the company if you did not flush after using the bathroom- preferably right before your boss comes in for the same reason. That way, she will be able to personally confirm that you did listen to her complaint/order and you are doing your best to follow company policy. Secondly, has anyone here seen the movie Borat? Presenting your waste to your boss, politely sealed (for her comfort) in a plastic bag that is transparent, will also let her know that you are taking her request seriously. You don't want to interrupt a potentially important meeting or phone call with a big client, so the best time and place to present her with the proof of you following policy, would be when she is eating lunch. I am sure she will appreciate your dedication to the company.

S1: Not even sure why this is an issue. Everybody except older brother feels uncomfortable around the girlfriend, she's the problem. If he's willing to leave the family for her... let him (some would argue that's the point of marriage, choosing someone over your family). The alternative is the family would still be uncomfortable around her, you simply wouldn't be around to see it. Doesn't fix the problem (her).

Bring it to the CEO. We used to bring our own coffee and tea, no one even said a thing because some of us just like a certain brand better. I wonder the same thing as the commentor...is the boss getting a deal from the coffee fund? Edit: Maybe it's just me...but OP does know that even when you're not incharge of a certain purchase, you can steer those who does in a certain direction, right? It depends on how much of a control freak and greedy someone can be. Let's just say I've met those sort of people...

I get the feeling that, given the way Big Boss talks about the manager, the AH manager is probably on a short leash and doesn't have the power to do that.

OP should EMAIL her boss, "I am confused about what you said about the Keurig cups and my right to bring my own from home, or use company water. You said that it was illegal for me to use my own Keurig cups for coffee, because I was stealing company water. Does this mean that I am stealing company water every time I flush the toilet or wash my hands? Or do I have the right to use company water for toilet reasons, but not for drinking? What about washing my used dishes, after lunch and breaks? Please clarify this for me, as I do not want to be fired for theft, as you threatened to do, if I ever steal company water again. Please help me out here, as I am afraid I'll lose my job if I ever turn on a faucet or flush the toilet. I've never encountered that before, but you DID threaten to fire me over water, so maybe the company rules have changed? I know that water-conservation is a BIG DEAL nowadays, but I didn't know it was THAT big of a deal, that I could be fired over a cup of water. Please respond soon, and clarify what water usage is allowed from employees, and what is not allowed. If I must pay for water usage, as I would if I purchased the water for the cup of coffee (Is the Keurig cup complimentary, and only the WATER being charged ten cents? I'm confused), must I pay for toilet usage? How much? Is there a time limit on how long I can use the faucet when I am washing my hands? Where do I pay? Do I report to you, so that you can deduct it from my paycheck? I AM SO CONFUSED. Please, PLEASE clarify soon, because I REALLY NEED TO PEE!" Blind copy HR, and her boss, and get this down in writing. If she responds with ANYTHING other than, "I'm sorry. I was being a jackass," you forward that on to HR and her boss, and say, "Ummmm, a little help here, please? I think she might need some mental health care, because this is nutsy. Either that, or there is a new rule in this company that has NOT been passed on to the employees, but yet we can be FIRED over it? It's one or the other, and in either case, a lawsuit could result, if you don't nip it in the bud. Because dudes, I REALLY do need to pee, and refusing to allow employees adequate use of toilet facilities IS A CRIME. Like, literally. Amnesty International calls it a human rights violation and a form of torture."

2. So you DON'T use company pods (cost of which can add up) but only their water (no real extra cost) and she gets mad? OP NTA manager deserves to be laughed at. Ignore the current boss and let HR and her boss know.

In story 1 I think that the other brothers gf is going to cheat on him. She's making such inappropriate remarks to the men of the family and to the mother of stealing them away. If she's like that to every man she meets then she's in the cheaters lane and he'll end up broken hearted. He'll find out for sure and come crying back to his family.

Lol. Payroll manager, I've done HR. That boss is full of sh** and she should get fired. Companies do not charge for coffee unless it's an actual vending machine. If she is making money of this and isn't the owner what she is doing would be considered illegal.
