I love this reaction! I subscribe 100% to all your thoughts on it. It is my favourite song of the album and I cannot believe some people underrate it. I remember it made me cry when I first listened to it. The lyrics, the melody, the harmonies, Harry's voice, the simplicity of just guitars and vocals... It is just stunning. The only new guy is on the piano. He took over for Niji Adeleye. It's still Elin Sandburg on the bass guitar, Pauli Lovejoy on the percussions, NY Oh, Mitch and Sarah the drummer. They're all part of Sarah's band with Harry as the main vocalist. 🤗🤗🤗

I feel in love with this song when I heard it performed at Coachella weekend 1. And it continues to be my favorite off the album. But it has the least number of spotify streams of all 13 tracks from the album. I heard folks saying that they couldn't relate to the lyrics, so maybe that's why it isn't their favorite?

Great reaction! And I agree Boyfriends is one of the best songs of the album. I have been listening to it nonstop since he played it at Coachella. And the studio version is great but the live version just hits different, with all the harmonies ❤️😍 And I also feel like this album kind of grew on me, like a few songs I didn't pay attention to much in the beginning or like that much, but now I do. But there were a few songs that stood out immediately like boyfriends, daydreaming, little freak and love of my life. I also listened to this album the first time at 5.50 because that's when the KZbin videos were released in my country, so I was almost asleep listening to it the first time.😂 My current favourites are Matilda, Boyfriends and little freak

It’s Ny Oh’s voice in harmonies that makes a difference imo. She’s the one behind Harry that nodded to mitch at the end. She has a quality to her voice that compliments Harry’s voice so well. I agree, the live version is 🤌

Harry is the king of not answering questions... haha I mean, he never leaves you without an answer, it's just not exactly what was asked 😂 This song is so beautiful and it hits even harder live! When they go acapella... Damn! I get chills everytime!! The band is the same as the Coachella performance. It's just a bit different from his tour last year... Niji (keyboards) couldn't join them for this Era, so he got replaced by Yaffra (the guy with yellow hat), but he already performed with them at Coachella.

@Suffi Reax I love your reactions and I share your enthusiasm for Harry and his amazing band. (permanen members guitar Mitch Rowland and drummer Sarah Jones , bassist Adam Prendergast replaced by Elin Sandburg. The keyboards were originally played by Clare Uchima). I listened to the whole album several times through headphones and the album is really great. Every song is so unique and original that it is really impossible to determine the best. I love the whole album and the order changes with every listen. The love of my life literally brought tears to my eyes. As it was, Daydreaming, Boyfriends Grapejuice, Late Night Talking, Daylight.... I can't go on because I would offend all the other great songs. Can I skip Little Freak, Cinema, Matilda,Satellite and the rest? One thing's for sure, Harry has confused our heads beautifully for all of us. A truly masterful album. Some songs I liked more, others less. But luckily, I had the opportunity to watch a live performance of Harry's House from NYC (also through headphones), which was immediately blocked by youtube. And I can tell you that I was absolutely thrilled and in euphoria. And suddenly I liked the whole album. Of course, this is enhanced by Harry's presence and the amazing chemistry with the band, which as always was fantastic. And when you see Harry singing those songs, you basically look at the album through Harry's eyes and experience it with him. He added something with Fine line and finished it kiwi. It was breathtaking. Everyone should listen to the live version and only then get a real picture of the album. The door of Harry's house is open, whoever wants to come in , is welcome. I know it's called boyfriends, but could also mean girlfriends, I know girls that this song could apply to, also Harry says "were all not as gentle as we could be" I am also shocked she said it was her least favourite, wasn't in my top 5 at first, but the more I hear it, the more it is creeping towards top spot

Usually he posts the whole interview in full like he did when Harry was there last time. This time he has split it up in multiple little videos... you know, for more clicks. I hope he will post it but not looking like it. Did you see him premiere this for the first time at Coachella? Soooo good. It was just him, Sarah, Ni and Elin singing. I prefer the live performance because he has the girls singing with him. In the studio version there are guys on it.

I think in the studio Harry does the harmonies as well. I'm pretty sure he did that on most of the songs on Fine Line too. Not sure about HS1.

@@mary_v2023 Yes, on the studio version it is all him. He records the melody and harmonies and then they are layered. Just like if there were different vocalists recording different parts in a song (like in 1D, for instance). They each record their parts separately and the producer puts them together. So yes, you are hearing guys singing the harmonies with Harry's main melody. But the guys singing are all Harry.

I love Boyfriends as well, but I know a few people who said it's their least favorite song... I was shocked by that as well! I don't think the Howard Stern Show will drop as a whole, most of the time they only upload small parts. I hope it will be uploaded though. I think I someone posted the whole audio on Twitter, I'll see if I can find it and will put it under this comment :) I listened to it live and I was a little uncomfortable at times. Howard really tried to make Harry talk shit about 1D and the other boys (which he didn't) and asked him directly about Olivia even though they both made clear that they want to keep their relationship private and don't want to talk about it (I think they never officalliy confirmed that they are dating, but they obviously still are together and have been for a while now)

You are right, here is no need to put him ok a pedestal and it's always fun if Interviews ask different questions. But Howard just takes it to far sometimes and especially his comments about Harry and women in the first interview have just been to much. I enjoyed listening to the rest of the interview though and there always are some interesting parts :)

I can understand why it’s her least favorite song. Don’t get me wrong, I love the song but from the “female point of view” it’s a tough listen. Even subconsciously.
