Nitrogen gas has a volume of 5 litres at 30 ºC. What will be its volume in mL if the pressure is changed from 1.5 to 4.5 atmospheres keeping the temperature constant at 30ºC?
@mathandlanguagebyjamesjuni
@mathandlanguagebyjamesjuni Жыл бұрын
P1 * V1 = P2 * V2 Where: P1 = initial pressure V1 = initial volume P2 = final pressure V2 = final volume Given: P1 = 1.5 atm V1 = 5 liters P2 = 4.5 atm T = 30 ºC First, let's convert the temperature from Celsius to Kelvin: T = 30 ºC + 273.15 T = 303.15 K Now we can use Boyle's Law to find V2: P1 * V1 = P2 * V2 (1.5 atm) * (5 liters) = (4.5 atm) * V2 Simplifying: 7.5 = 4.5 * V2 Dividing both sides by 4.5: V2 = 7.5 / 4.5 V2 ≈ 1.67 liters To convert liters to milliliters, we multiply by 1000: V2 = 1.67 * 1000 V2 ≈ 1670 mL Therefore, the volume of nitrogen gas at 30 ºC will be approximately 1670 mL when the pressure is changed from 1.5 to 4.5 atmospheres while keeping the temperature constant.

When the pressure on a gas increases, will the volume increase or decrease?
@mathandlanguagebyjamesjuni
@mathandlanguagebyjamesjuni Жыл бұрын
According to Boyle's Law, when the pressure on a gas increases, the volume of the gas will decrease, given that the temperature remains constant. Boyle's Law states that the pressure and volume of a gas are inversely proportional to each other at constant temperature. In other words, as pressure increases, volume decreases, and vice versa, as long as the temperature remains constant. This relationship can be expressed mathematically as: P1 * V1 = P2 * V2 Where P1 and V1 represent the initial pressure and volume, and P2 and V2 represent the final pressure and volume, respectively.

A sample of fluorine gas occupies a volume of 500 mL at 760 torr. Given that the temperature remains the same, calculate the pressure required to reduce its volume by 1/3.....pano po Yun kpag may fraction na po?
@mathandlanguagebyjamesjuni
@mathandlanguagebyjamesjuni 3 ай бұрын
P1= 760 torr V1= 500ml P2= x V2= 500- (1/3 of 500) Sabi sa prob, reduce the volume by 1/3, so babawasan mo iyong 500 ng 1/3 niya Ang 1/3 ng 500 ay around 166.666666. So, 500-166.6666666 is mga 333.33333333 Update natin iyong given, magiging P1= 760 torr V1= 500ml P2= x V2= 333.33ml Solve na natin P1V1= P2V2 (760)(500)= 333.33x 380,000= 333.33x x= 380,000/333.33 x= 1,140.01140011400... So ang resulting pressure or P2 ay 1,140.01140011400 torr Rounding off to the least significant figure, which is 1 kasi iyong 500, ang number of significant figure niya lanng ay 1. Kindly make sure kung 500ml lang siya at hindi siya 500.0ml Kapag 500ml lang mismo given, ang magiging final answer natin is 1000 torr Kapag 500.0ml naman, ang magiging answer natin ay 1100 torr.

Silent iyong problem about dun sa pressure kung constant pa rin. So, we can assume na constant pa rin iyong pressure. Hence, ignore na lang muna natin iyong pressure. V1= 50.0 mL T1= 25°C or 298.15K V2= x T2= 35°C or 308.15K V1 = V2 == ==== T1 T2 50 = x ===== ==== 298.15 308.15 (50)(308.15) = 298.15x 15,407.5= 298.15x x= 15,407.5/298.15 x= 51.6770082173402649 Rounding off to the least number of significant figure which is 3, the final answer or new temperature will be 51.7 ml
