This week, I built a 1:12 scale diorama depicting the final showdown between an imperial Stormtrooper and a Nexu. The Nexu is the cat-like monster seen in Attack of the Clones during the arena fight on Geonosis. Leave a comment below telling me what you think the backstory of this diorama should be. I think this Stormtrooper's platoon was probably chasing down a smuggler who was bringing exotic animals to crime lords when the smuggler released the animals and they stampeded through his platoon, leaving just him to be hunted by the Nexu.

The trooper was cut of from rest of his platoon after an ambush while out on a patrol looking for a rebel leader. When their transport was attack he was thrown of down a smaller ravine and blacked out, he was awaken from a smaller creature fleeing from something in the woods. Hearing russling ge pulled out the blasters to be prepared for what he first tought was more rebels there to finish the job but then the Nexu attacked. Hurting the shoulder of the trooper but ge managed to get in a fatal shot after the Nexu Landed and was turning around. With the Nexu dead but he himself bleading he started to try to find his way out, but the bloodloss was getting greater and greater and his vision was blurring he could the remains of what was once his platoon in the distance. Finaly, he would be saved.

I think the best backstory for this would be the Stormtrooper is stationed on Saleucami (an outer rim planet where Nexus have been seen and there's a known imperial base) and got split from their platoon chasing down a small squad of rebels who ran into the jungle for cover, and the trooper ends up hearing something in the undergrowth, thinking it's a rebel or another member of their platoon they investigate only to be ambushed by the Nexu, the trooper manages to get in a fatal shot before the Nexu can do any serious damage and is saved by their platoon who heard the blaster fire.

TK-2501 depicted here in this diorama was stationed on Morak, a jungle planet. He was tasked with guarding refinery docking bay 32. When the refinery was attacked and destroyed by the Rebels, TK-2501 was one of the few survivors. With no way to contact Imperial headquarters, he began walking Southwest In the direction of the nearest Imperial outpost. Unfortunately for TK-2501 he stumbled upon a nest of Nexu. As the mother Nexu lunged at TK-2501 he stumbled backwards firing off one blaster bolt. The bolt struck one of the mother Nexu's many teeth, chipping it and deflecting off. TK-2501 is currently listed as MIA in the Imperial database.

While hunting down the rebels, one garrison of TK’s were dispatched to the remote jungle planet, Yavin 4. While on patrol, TK122 was near the rebel base when he heard something moving in the brush ahead of him. As he investigated, he was viciously attacked by a Nexu, mauling him to death and keeping the rebel base hidden until they launched their attack on the Death Star a few days later.

Fantastic!!! You used my ferns!!! Seriously, thanks for the shout out Caleb! This came out so good. It was awesome watching you do the 1/12 scale foliage. It's honestly my favorite part of a build (when the build has foliage in it). I have that same bag, the Moss Collection, and it comes with such a great variety of stuff in it. I have NOT tried the moss mat yet though, but I think that's going to be my new forrest floor method instead of sprinkling tea leaves and oregano over mod podge lol. The hunt for things to use for 1/12 scale foliage is also part of the fun I feel. Your 3d printer has really upped your game and allowed you to tackle some really cool projects. This was a super creative build and you put out a great video as usual!

I think you created the story with the description, the last of his squad, which the Nexu has slowly whittled down to this last surviving stormtrooper, this being the final showdown between predator and prey. Epic as ever, looks great how he's firing yet putting his hand up to protect himself from the nexu

This Nexu is one of the offspring of the Nexu that were used in the arena's on Geonosian. When the Nexu that attacked Senator Amidala was killed, several others escaped as well. This was kept silent so that fear would not spread across the population. When after the Clone Wars the planet was under the Empire rule again a small platoon of Stormtroopers was stationed there. Nexu sometimes wander out of the forest into the city parks looking for food. This unfortunate Stormtrooper was just on this Sunday morning stroll through the park when he was attacked by this Nexu. He was very lucky that his quick reflexes saved him. He shot the Nexu through the head and it was killed instantly. He of course filed a complaint with the park officials and got a nice settlement so in the end it turned out to be his lucky day.

A MICE trooper is inspecting an abandoned installation on the forest world of Cholganna as part of a larger sweep to eliminate smuggling cells in the Outer Rim. While trying to find an entry point to the facility, he is suddenly attacked by a Nexu that use the interior to shelter her brood. The Imperial Material Inspection and Contagion Elimination (MICE) unit is tasked with structural assessment and pest control of newly aquired Imperial assets on occupied worlds. Applicants to the Imperial corps that fall short of the height requirement, but otherwise show heightened physical capabilities, are usually assigned to this troop. Their low stature combined with physical prowess make them excellent infiltrators. They can more easily crawl into cracks and crevices as well as hide more efficiently to avoid detection from both hostiles and wildlife. In this instance the troopers abilities seem to have come up a bit short of the task.

Awesome work. I laughed at the "gushers" line when you took the print off the plate. Might want to put a few drain holes into your model next time. And for accidents like this I find that an aluminum turkey roaster pan is a great work area to keep resin from going everywhere.

The story behind this is, the second death star has been destroyed. The New Republic has taken out the main imperial base on this forest planet, forcing the imperials to scatter and flee into the forest. This stormtrooper has lost his way, and found his unfortunate end when he came in conflict with this Nexu. Great diorama as always! Can't wait for the next one!

Vader knew first hand how dangerous the Nexu are. Getting one wasn’t difficult, though, smugglers specialized in moving monsters like these. The difficulty was finding troopers that could survive on the planet long enough to be selected as members of Vader’s personal squadron. This one didn’t make the cut.

I think some scientists on Endor used fossilized DNA to bring back the extinct Nexu. This poor Storm Trooper was on the hunt for a pair of them when this one flanked him. Just before he was ambushed, the Trooper muttered, “clever girl.”

He was probably just on patrol of an area supposedly inhabited by rebels when he wandered just a little too far and met this nexu. But luckily, the arena nexu's are always riled up and starved to increase entertainment for the arena goers. So, in the wild they r rather friendly and he just wants to play w this stormtrooper :)

TK-1424 (14-24 = NX) was patrolling with his platoon when he heard faint screams coming from deep in the Cholganna forest. For the fear it could be his friend patrolling a little farther ahead he rushed into the forest stumbling across some kind of structure. The faint screams turned into muffled whimpers as he got closer. Following a blood trail on the mossy floor he came across a small gap in the structure. The whimpers stopped leaving eerie silence. TK-1424’s finger trembling on the trigger, he approached the gap . The Nexu pounced. TK-1424 managed to land a shot but the Nexus was far more fatal.

Shortly after the rise of the Empire, Sheev Palpatine decided a show of force would be needed to concrete his dominance in the criminal underworld. Choosing to test Lord Vader in various trials, he was left with his new clone army and he would have them show their might. In a routine raid of the Hutt Cartel, Palpatine foresaw victory, but cared little for those who fell in battle. In an effort to test his men as well, once the Hutt's bodyguards were put down, he had the commander on the ground unleash the Hutt's menagerie to sift the weak from the strong. He knew many still wished to follow their old ways of "honor" like the Jedi had taught them, but there was no longer a need for honor. There was only need for obedience. This was a great success for Palpatine. The Hutt Cartel feared him. All who feared the Hutt Cartel knew they stood no chance. His own men knew that their Emperor meant business. There were many weak minded fools, who fell in this excursion, but there was one lone Trooper, who it was told, stood his ground against a mighty Nexu. At 1st he ran from the beast, before turning around and running towards his fate. He met the beast head on, and with a single blast he took it down proving his worth to his Emperor and showing the galaxy that "no matter the odds...the Empire would not fall."

The stormtrooper was separated from his platoon after he thought he seen something moving in the brush around him and he went to investigate when he finds himself in this situation, he ends up killing the nexu but looses an arm in the process he manages to find his way back to his platoon and is treated for his injuries. His platoon was dispatched to this plant for recon and when they got the information they needed they returned to their fleet. He is later decommissioned form the empire because he only has one arm, he is still proud of himself and a bit annoyed. Great job as usual, keep it up!! 👍

Another fantastic build, always love seeing your videos. A great trick for foam bricks is to cut them, then put them into a container with some rocks and shake them around. Then they get a bit beaten up and textured. Hope it helps, keep up the great work!

Stormtrooper BHT-41121 was supposed to be on patrol. Well, he was on patrol, but he was not actually moving through the jungle. Tired of trudging through the hot, oppressive, jungle heat and tired of sweating in spite of his suit’s environmental system, he was simply perched on the crumbled edge of some ancient stone wall. Listening to the sounds of his wild surroundings, a subtle rustling noise foams over his helmet’s pickup. He stiffened, but did not move. They were warned prior to the mission to this jungle moon of the dangerous predators they might encounter. The worst was the cat-like Nexu beast. It’s speed and agility, combined with its long razor sharp claws made it the most dangerous creature on the moon. Except for BTH-41121. THIS stormtrooper wasn’t like most of his kind. No, those sad saps, inducted and drilled and dumped into battle before they even learned to shoot straight would be no match for the Nexu. But BHT41121 was special. He was one of the oldest active duty stormtroopers. Sure he was a little jaded after all the years, but he knew his job and he still had the skills he was born with. He was one of the few remaining Clones from the Kamino facility, created from the genetic material of the bounty hunter Jango Fett. Therefore he did not fear the Nexu. The rustling stopped, and for a moment, time stood still. With a great roar and a burst of sudden speed, the giant Nexu erupted from the undergrowth. With equal speed, the veteran trooper at one pushed himself away from the wall and spun, drawing his blaster and firing at the beast leaping through the air at him. The sound of his shot echoed through the jungle. Then there was silence. The Nexu, a smoking hole in the back of his skull, opposite its mounts through which the blaster bolt had passed, lay dead on the mossy jungle floor. Examining his work for a moment, BHT-41121 put away his weapon and resumed his patrol. Just another day for an old clone trooper.

I see you've already got the pinned comment but i reckon this engagement went down a little differently. I think this trooper was separated from his unit, i think he was apart of a rebel squashing gone sour that took place at a hidden bunker deep in dense forestry of cholganna (the native planet of the nexu) and he wound up knocked unconscious when the rebels sprung a surprise trap on his unit and detonated the bunker as his unit was entering it. He got "lucky" though, he was the last trooper entering the building right behind his fellow trooper. As the blast occured he was partially shielded by the trooper infront of him, but he was flung back hit by small debris and the now dead carcass of the soldier that unknowingly shielded him from a certain demise. He awakes hours later in shock stumbling around regaining his footing on reality when he begins to come to and realises a small group of nexu had begun feeding on the carcasses of his fallen allies. He reaches for a blaster by his feet and goes to climb up over the age worn rubble of a wall behind him to escape when he is immediately faced with another nexu that unbeknownst to him had been glaring him down waiting for an opportune time to strike. The trooper draws on the cat as it leaps at him. He manages to squeeze off a shot directly down the throat of the cat terminating it almost instantly. However with the cat still being in motion with it's claws engaged the trooper finds himself quickly pinned and impaled by the nexu and it's large claws. By which time the other nexu have noticed and have begun circling in on the now mortally wounded trooper. He attempts to slay the other nexu circling him, he squeezes off two more shots putting one cat down and clipping the shoulder of another before a third snaps it's jaws down on the troopers neck... severing his spine in one quick motion a galant effort for the furtnate of misfortune

Great work, I don't know what the backstory might be, storm troopers on patrol would be my guess. That blaster bolt is going to hit the Nexu right in the mouth so I think we have to call it Stormtrooper for the win.

A stormtrooper patroll was patrolling Saleucami, andone of the private's were seperated from the rest of his squad, because he tripped on arock and knocked himself out on another rock. What the Private did not know is Saleucami was one of the homeworlds of the Nexu, and he was attacked by one near ruins from The Clone Wars, while he was trying to navigate the wilderness back to his garrison.

I'm a little late to this party...but I loved this build. Such creativity in making the Nexu, and the landscaping is so good! In my humble opinion, this should have many, many more views than it does. I love many of the other back stories that have been submitted, and here's another one - “While spending some quality “team-building” time camping with others from his squadron, FN-2187 finds himself in a life and death situation after surprising a Nexu while looking for a place to relieve himself”

On Zhanox Prime, a lone guerrilla force of rebels have found and tamed a pack of wild Nexu. A lone stormtrooper was found on the outskirts of their territory, who they captured alive. He begged for his life as they figured out what to do with him. Their leader gave him a chance to save his life: if he survived one night in the jungle, among the wild Nexu, then he would be set free. He accepted this challenge, confident in his survival skills and marksmanship. As the sun set, the jungle grew darker and darker as the growls began echoing louder all around him. His fate was sealed the moment he heard something rustling in the bushes. Only one shot was fired that night-the last thing the trooper saw was the silhouette of the beast, illuminated by a wayward blaster bolt.

Very awesome as usual! And I think you're a great 3d sculptor! Personally I would have painted the plants a little with the airbrush to give them some shading/color variation but as usual outstanding job!
