The model railroad world awaits a future commitment to a Wild Imaginary West themed railroad. I love the idea of printing your own locos and placing them on mechanisms. You'll take the hobby by storm. 😉

Awesome build! I thought a cool idea might be a sort of Jurassic Park but for monsters in the wild imaginary west. Maybe some rich guy made a “monster zoo” but life would find a way if you know what I mean….. This video made me come up with this because I was trying to guess what the train cars would be before you put them on and what I guessed was maybe a monster in a cage which made me do my own subconscious world building. Great video!

If you’re gonna connect all the dioramas together you could technically make a smeltery and connect the train tracks together and make the train loop around this diorama and the Smeltery diorama

Next time you make a locomotive on a trolly base, you might want to base it on a shay, Heisler, climax, or other geared locomotive. They were built to be powerful for their size, relatively inexpensive, and good at taking steep grades & sharp corners, at the cost of being very slow. Because of how they’re built, their wheel arrangement looks similar to the two-truck trolly base you used, more so than a traditional locomotive would. What’s more, they were very popular on logging & industrial railroads, and look very steampunk with all their exposed moving parts, so they’d fit in well in the wild imaginary west setting I think.

Another option is to go with a narrow gauge train. Hon30 or OO9 is 1:87th with the gauge between the rails at 30”, which means tight curves and steam locos that can traverse them. Think HO scale on N scale track. Just a thought!

The title and etymology of the name made me think of a skull of some giant prehistoric WIW beast that is used by the Natives as a shelter, accompanied by a smaller head of some ancient predator used as a some sort of chicken coop (or whatever poultry was around in this timeline), with the teeth serving as a cage.

You should do a diorama based off of Warframe at some point, you could do a scene where an Excalibur, Loki and Rhino are fighting their way through a corridor of a Grineer ship or you could do one based off of the new expansion thats coming out soon called Warframe 1999, that'd be awesome!

Sidenerding, since it's a Narrowgauge Layout running on N-Scale tracks would make it a H0e Scale with 750mm gauge or TTm with meter gauge And idk. how viable to import but: there is a small german modell company called Busch, who has a selection of H0, TT and N Scale tracks and trains narrow gauge industrial and forrest railways. worth a look, maybe it can give you some ideas :3

I'm not a fan of the black veneer on the sides. A simple band along the bottom would suffice and amplify the rock aesthetic and realism. Additionally, a light on the engine would be a nice touch for coming and going into the tunnel. It's a nice diorama.

Hmmm, how did a European style locomotive end up in the Wild Imaginary West? Was she imported? Was her owner from Europe, and he brought her with him to seek his fortune? Was she built in the United States by someone who worked for a locomotive works across the pond, and those people just went with what they knew? So many questions. So many potential answers.
