So I just realized, if you master the mechanics enough, you can stack the deck for yourself to win. I think that's what the "king" or Corsica is hinting at. Just takes a little tweaking of the strategy but you can definitely rig the game for yourself instead of the Comte

You share you money pool with the Comte though, and the Comte actually knows how to use the stacked cards in the game, you might not know how to play the game with the stacked cards.

it most likely is tbh, their camp seems to basically be an anarchist commune, and using excess resources to help people is a big part of anarchism (like, considering that they want to get rid of the monarchy, that makes it *more* likely theyre using the money to help people that need help)

I feel like the beginning death sequence really explains the ‘12 bottles of milk’ story we know up to this point- Spoilers below if you haven’t finished watching the video yet (for some reason-) It’s hard to explain, but the Death that the character met in the beginning looked like the MC himself, and I found that suspicious, so the reveal that he (might) be bastard royalty really explains that part, of course Death would both mimic and favor royalty enough to let them play cards for their life.

For a game based around UI gimmicks its a bit odd. But phrasing that way almost makes it make sense. It does more so there's a lot more that can go wrong.
