I forgot to add HOSTEL FEES AND HOSTEL TIMINGS in the video. HOSTEL TIMING : There are no specific timings or restrictions for entering the hostel. You can enter and exit the hostel at any time. HOSTEL FEES : So we have to pay semester-wise hostel fees, last year it was 2500 for a semester since we have two semesters in a year so you need to pay again 2500 when next semester starts. This year hostel fees may vary. This fee is exclusive of the mess fee. As we have a pay-and-eat system in our college, that means you need to pay for the food only when you will have a meal in the mess.

Hello there, I will be visiting the mathematics dept of IITRPR in the next month for the AFS-1 Program. I am currently residing in the NIT Rourkela campus. Hello. My sister is going to join iit ropar. I just wanted to confirm that is the area near the iit campus(outside iit) safe for a girl or some precautions needed to be taken care of while going out of the campus.I m asking this as she as a student may need to go outside for various purposes.

We have institute buses which go from campus to ropar market and return back within 1hour . But since IIT Ropar is in the outskirts of ropar so the road which leads to the campus, don't have street lights .In day time ,a lot of students go but during evening we (both boys and girls) don't prefer much going outside ,if we are in group then only we travel during evening.(ex: after 7pm). Just outside the campus we don't have much options to hang out (as of now only one option to eat) or to buy anything we need to go to ropar market . It's a rural area outside iit ropar

No ,there is no swimming pool and bikes are not allowed,as far as I know ,only PhD students are allowed to keep bikes

yes, there is a brand new olympic sized pool available in the sports complex but it is a seasonable swimming pool and you can access by paying a fees of 70Rupees/45min

Cycle stalls are set up within the campus at the beginning of every year, from where you can purchase cycles. You can also buy second hand from seniors who are willing to sell.

Honestly our college is working on building alumni network and the progress made so far is impressing. Also our seniors are placed in big mnc like google and we have whatsapp and telegram groups where you can contact them also.I would suggest if you are getting iit ropar go for it .

Hostel Fees: In the 1st semester it is 2500, and for every subsequent semester, it is 1500 per semester. Mess Fees: There is no such one-time mess fees. We have coupon system. If you wish to eat in mess, then you can buy the coupons accordingly, else you can eat at canteens. The coupon system provides flexibility to eat. One full day coupon costs Rs. 130.

yes but you have to take permission from your parents and the warden will give you a out pass which you can use to go out and the outpass costs 15Rupees as you have to pay for the printing of the pass

Yes. If you go out only for the day, then you have to sign at the main gate, but if you are going home or for trip, then you need to fill a form and submit at the hostel gate while leaving. There's no restriction on timing, if form is submitted.
