I love Ga Eul so much. Even when she found out about Yi jeong's feelings for his past friend, instead of holding that against him and turning bitter she consoled him and helped them both to settle their feelings with each other despite knowing that they might end up together. She was also willing to wait for Yijeong when he went abroad. She is a truly selfless character and I'm so glad she got her happy ending.

When I watched 'Boys Over Flowers' initially over a decade ago, I actually shipped Yijeong and Gaeul way more than the main couple Gu Jun Pyo and Geum Jan Di. Love how less toxic their relationship was with much less toxic karmic interference🤍

I think this subplot was pretty well written, in the sense that sometimes it is hard to forget your first love (and this is shown clearly by yijeong and also by gaeul) yijeong realizes the potential soulmate connection between him and gaeul, and creates the powerful second-lead couple that all kdrama fans can never forget
