Literally all children are impulsive, chaotic, and do not think through their actions some of the time, if not all of the time. What do you expect from children. Some children might be more thoughtful, to expect a child to think through their actions 24/7 is unrealistic to say the least.

Lilo is not awful, she's a toddler almost a young child. She's not going to understand certain things and in that movie the things she does do she has some actually awful could be traumatizing consequences. She literally is seconds from being taken from her only family member, her sister. And while helping Stitch she gets kidnapped by an alien, also she is a bullied child by those other girls just cause she has some not so common coping mechanisms and is just being herself. Lilo and Stitch for being about a lil girl and alien is actually really deep and sad truly, but such a comfort movie.

You stop being considered a toddler by the age of 3 years old. Everything else though is spot on... + Lilo was still dealing with the trauma of losing both her parents at a very young age & was never once provided therapy to deal with all of her developing emotions

"Lilo & Stitch is the best Disney movie." No. Lilo & Stitch is the best movie. PERIOD. It was a kid's movie that wasn't afraid to handle a hard topic maturely, and pretty realistically (up until the final alien part.) It had pretty decent action, and pretty good comedy. Nice artsyle, and great storytelling. It just checks every box you need outside of horror.

Brian hating Lilo, must not understand Lilo's trauma from losing both of her parents and her explanation that Pudge controls the weather is because it was raining that night & she believes that Pudge was responsible for her parents death and so she tries to appease the fish... Her trauma needed an explanation & reasoning in the eyes of a 6 year old child, so she saw it as a superpowered fish being responsible for losing both her parents... She never got councilling or therapy and has a ton of anger issues that she doesn't know how to control because nobody took the time to help Lilo emotionally or mentally

The Lion king is one of my favorite Disney movies. the animated in particular. I have also seen it twice on broadway.. That may be true, but Lilo was probably one of the most “realistic” child Disney characters we’ve seen in a while at the time. Disney hasn’t been particularly great with making child characters seem more like… children. Most were sugar coated and pristine. Kids are rambunctious, prone to tempers, say whatever is on their mind, especially when not having much pop parental guidance and Lilo illustrates those characteristics perfectly.
