I've seen mixed reviews from women who tried the simulators. Most say it's very weak compared to their actual period pain and they don't have much of a reaction to the simulator. While I've heard a few say it's similar. All the guys seem to act like these dudes. I think because they don't know what to expect when going into it. Women experience the pain often so , they know what to expect. It's kinda nice that the men can experience it kinda. It shows that women aren't over-reacting about their period pains. And every woman is different. Some can function and endure their period pain, while others will be left in crippling pain. People have different pain tolerances.
@evelinedorresteijn56642 жыл бұрын
A couple of things to consider with these tests: i could imagine pain that originates within the body is more impactful than pain from external source + women usually have a higher body fat percentage (especially around that area) so the electrical currents might not deliver as much pain to them vs the men + women are warriors with trained pain tolerance.
@lunarialoonatic2 жыл бұрын
Women who have rily bad cramps probably expect worse so when they have this its like nothing. I tried it with my cousin whose a male and I felt 10 was def worse than my usual cramps (5-6 were more my usual). But even the worst didn’t feel SO bad to me.

I agree. But pain tolerance doesn’t always work for period pain. I actually have issues feeling pain to the point my family thinks I have issues with my nerves (the highest I’ve used was a 3 on the pain scale, that being when I injured my shoulders and when I broke my wrist it was only a 2). But my period I would rate a 9 or 10. What I always find funny is that I actually use a tenz unit (the machine that is usually used to simulate period cramp) to alleviate them. I crank that sucker up to the highest setting 😂 That + heat = blissful numbness

My gym teacher used to say: "girls, period is not an illness!" I don't wanna speak for every girl, but for me, I'd be better at excercising and running with a full-blown flu symptoms, rather than doing that during my 1st or 2nd day of period. The remaining days are kinda doable for me when it comes to the bodily discomfort, it's just the mental fear of leaking and sweating way too much than normal. PS: I climbed a mountain on my 1st day of period. I got my period when I was very close to the peak, I decided not to give up and I finished climbing and I climbed all the way down. Because women are expected to go about their days with no problem while bearing that pain. My cramps make me lose my appetite because usually all I can think about is the pain. Sometimes medicine barely even dulls the pain. I’d say it feels somewhat similar to an awful (awful) stomach ache, but concentrated more near the front of your navel, near your bladder. But unlike a stomach ache, there’s no relief from the pain. And sometimes I get aches and pressure in my entire pelvic region to the point of my hip bones feeling like they are molten lava. Not every month is that bad. I definitely need to eat healthier and do yoga because the instinct to curl up in a ball and eat chocolate is probably not helping.

I once heard about women who got period cramps so bad that they caught a fever, or can't get up, or needing to take painkillers etc etc. To this day I am still glad that my period cramps never get that bad, and I hope that people that do experience it have a good support system around them
@MsKittenQueen2 жыл бұрын
Many women, mine aswell, habe to take painkillers every months for the first 3 or 4 days, and not like 2 doses, talking about at least 5-6 a day depending on how bad it is. Resulting in stomach problems like diarheea because of the pain killers damaging ingredients to the stomach for the next week. Yeah, its not so fun. But without the pain killers I couldnt sleep, couldnt ear or go to worl for these days.

I’ve felt period pain so damn bad that I was stuck in place, practically clawing at my Mum who was there comforting me. It was one of my first periods too so I had no idea why it hurt so bad. Turns out, I have a disease called Endometriosis. It’s a genetic disease and my Mum also has it.

It's just so validating for once to see people saying the pain is bad, instead of telling us to just get over it. However, of course you have to add the pains to the rest of our body and how messed up our hormones make our emotions and bodily state. On top of the fact we are literally constantly bleeding for days! My husband once said this sweet thing that gives me confidence everytime I'm on my period. He said he once heard about civilisations before ours, worshipping women as types of gods because they are the ones who can "bleed but does not die". Everytime I feel weak for not dealing with the pain well I think to myself "I am the one that bleeds and does not die" no joke haha it makes me feel so much stronger when I'm doubled over in pain.

Being a female myself, It’s funny with the guys being nervous to try the simulator. Because us females go through this pain monthly. And on top of that, we bleed nonstop, have bloating, fatigue, nausea, some vomit, passout, etc…and we still have to go on about our day like everything is fine. I just got over my period a couple days ago. And had to work 12hr shifts on the first 2 days of my cycle. Let’s just say, I felt like utter sh*t both days. They're done in like five minutes and never have to do it again. For those with uteruses, it's like that three days straight, twelve or thirteen times a year, for approximately 40 years, and there is no escape. Drugs honestly barely even make a difference. We spend about 35,000 hours of our lives experiencing that level of pain. So now, perhaps it makes sense why so many people with uteruses who don't want kids do WANT hysterectomies. For every year that a doctor delays a wanted hysterectomy, they cause at least 800 hours of extra, unnecessary pain to their patients. How can inflicting that on an adult who has already weighed their choices possibly be considered ethical?

The "you're experienced" part is, honestly, part of what makes it so hard. Many girls are twelve years old or younger, having this pain, learning to clean up the blood and use the various products, and figure out how to get up and function and go to school because hey....this is your new normal for 3 to 7 days once a month for probably the next 30 to 40 years. It's hard to be a CHILD and already deal with that. I once was commenting on a scene involving a lot of blood in a movie, saying it looked real. I was with only male friends, and they asked "how so you know what a bunch of blood looks like?" 😑 Most women see more blood in a few months than a man may see in years and years, unless he works in the medical field or has had/witnessed a serious accident or medical procedure.

And did I forget to mention that you constantly feel like you have to use the bathroom, you can’t tell if you just have to shit or if it’s cramps, and the constipation and/or diarrhea that comes with all that. All of that and more. Plus things like ovary cysts and endometriosis that can come with that, that cause pain worse then appendicitis. (And thats coming from someone who’s appendix burst.) Plus men consistently putting you down and telling you that “you’re overreacting” and to just “suck it up”. I’ve broken my arm before, and that hurts less then my period. I’ve tried medications to help, and they only thing they have done so far is take the edge off if nothing at all. So yeah, maybe women do complain about periods, but rightfully so. Do your research before you speak, or simply don’t speak at all.

As a man I never experienced this, but I always was sympathetic towards women when they had their periods. Either because I've witnessed the reactions of my mother and sister (seeing them in pain always made me sad) or because my dad told me to be when he had the "father-son talk" with me. The thing is, it was always other women who were cruel. I was manager of a super market in my early 20's and when a female worker had her period I was easy on her (for example, I didn't let her lift boxes) but all the other women got angry at me for doing that. Believe it or not, they were saying "So what if she's on her period? When I'm on my period I'm not complaining". I've witnessed that kind of attitude my entire life. PS: When my first girlfriend had her period, I tried to hug her in order to comfort her. She screamed "leave me alone!". I was in shock, then I got angry, I thought "I was only trying to be nice to you, wtf?" (don't judge me, I was clueless, try to see it from my point of view). I got up, said nothing and left. I ghosted her for the rest of the night and the next morning she was crying and told me: "why you left me?"... I've learned a lot with that experience!

I hate it when it’s at a *REALLY INCONVENIENT TIME* and you have to deal with a certain annoying sweatiness when you have a fever and migraine that came out of nowhere no matter how much you drink water, and then the need to sit down but bend over and vomit and need to writhe in pain but have to keep clean as possible??! And then I have long hair that just ARGHHHHHH and last month I almost passed out and couldn’t move my legs anymore and nearly just collapsed on the floor in front of the toilet door open, tried to call my parents as they were downstairs and the toilet is on the top of the stairs so I tried to call them on phone and shouting my but my voice was going and I became so weak I couldn’t even open my eyes anymore and barely could breath. Later I called after like 20+ times phone and shouting and my parents who were asleep woke up and my dad said what’s wrong? I wasn’t wearing any shorts as I needed to take it off when it was drenched in blood and was too sticky but by the time I managed to walk back from my room to put a pad my legs gave out as I practically dragged myself with one strong enough arm god... and then he just gave me a shirts and said it’s ok if I get blood on it just to cover me and my mom tried lifting me up making sure I wake up so I don’t fully pass out. They work as nurse and HCA in the hospital so they were fanning me to give me air and checked my blood pressure and oxygen levels and it was so low and they helped me rest and to try keep awake so I wouldn’t need to go to A&E if I wasn’t recovering. Supposedly I’m slightly anemic so it could be part of it but not really. I do take supplement tablets. But yeah, point of the story is that the body can take different measures of pain and growth and whatever happens to your body either naturally or however you got affected but this comes to show all our experiences are different but it’s good to know that you can learn more about the human body and notice symptoms to help or be aware. Sorry this was SO long but just wanted to put it out there since this was my latest bad experience with periods. Don’t worry I was ok at the end of that day. And now I’m just hoping the due date which is around the time I am typing this isn’t going to be too late as my last period was really late and then I suffered😫 But I will make sure I am near people if I ever feel unwell and it gets worse

The point I want to clarify those boys When she says "is it that much painful?" They replied "we're newbies, you're experienced".:: No. She seriously means it. Like she felt it only twitches on the surface but you can never experience the pulling effect of inner organ with any machine, accompanied by nausea , chills and joint pain. With all these cases , what you guys experience is very very less. Plus you said we're experienced. Hell no. Because it's FRESH NEW TO US EVERY MONTH. Your body get used to any sort of pain only when it happens consistently everyday. Like the soreness that follows after workout. You exercise everyday and you'll see your body getting used to all the soreness and muscle relaxed with time. But when you're a no-workout lazy person and you exercise only once in a month then every time you do your body feels new to that heavy duty and gets sore the same way. It's the same for periods pain. It doesn't pain everyday for us to get used to it (with that level of pain a human would die if it happens everyday. God saved). It pains all of a sudden almost after 4 weeks of gap. So our body is new to it every single time and that's why it feels like hell.

Not the binge eating for all of us, I can't stand feeling full during my period. @・s y l v i a・ huh I hope it gets better. It's definitely worth checking it out with a doctor. There are also some things that might help: cardio exercise - it helps to boost your blood pressure. Healthy food. I love chocolate and carbs and coffee - however, sadly, they are not good for our body. Try to eat as healthy as you can. Read about Candida diet. There are also different herbs that have a positive effect upon our hormone system and metabolism, but sports and food have the most intensive impact. Also, get enough sleep at night. If your symptoms still persist, then you should really go to a doctor. I wish you good health 💜

It would be interesting to watch athletes try it, but it is also important just to have normal guys attempt it since most people who have this pain aren't athletes and such who have a higher pain tolerance. I have had days with period pain where I was crying on the floor and writhing (I'm on medicine now to stop the pain, and my periods by extension) so I'm not too surprised but I do wonder how genuine it is haha. @@WhiteTigerFox tbh i'm blessed, in almost 20 years i think i had really unbearable cramps only a couple of times and it never got to the point that i threw up or fainted, boob pain/swelling? i don't even know or notice her. beside moderate cramps, the two most intense offenders i am a regular victim of are migraines and days long backaches. but yea even then, i would never say or even think that another woman is overreacting her period pains what the fuck.

You get pre-cramps too?! I get them up to a week in advance sometimes, very sharp and generally sporadic, along with the PMS symptoms.

@@kirstinjw.wilkinson4143 yes, their sooooo bad 😭. It's sometimes even almost 2 weeks in advance, and it's so terribly painful...

@@ravi-aahhh Oh yeah. Do you get the noodle limbs? or the ache from belly button to knees? I've only found one painkiller that works even semi-decently, and it has a bead habit of knocking me out, and only killing the pain for maybe 2 hours if I'm lucky.
