this shouldn't be my favorite theme in the series, there are more emotional, impactful ones, more important character themes and more melodic stage themes.. but i think Mitsumo's mastered the art of sounding terrifying, but in a way that makes me want to dance. and of all the themes in Len'en, this is the one that consistently just shows up in my head. so... *gets possessed by a mirror*

This demo is really sweet, but my god there is so much stuff going on in it. And none of it is in English... I can't even begin to look at the upgrade system, cause I don't understand any of it. But from what I can tell, there are 1 possible Haze boss, 1 possible Brilliant, and 2 possible neutral bosses per stage... and a secret boss? Makes me wonder how the hell stages 4-6 are going to work. And the Extra stage? I'm so pumped.

You can change the in game text by changing the corresponding .txt files. Just copy and past these, you can always go back and change them once someone makes a real translation. Is there a special way I should be putting these things into the text files? When I do it I just see the title of the skill in game change, but the bullet points at the bottom are still in Japanese.

midnafan132 Yeah, sorry, that confused me for a while. In the upgrade menu you have 3 screens which you access by pressing left and right (as you know): the first is characters, the second is upgrades, the third is skills. To unlock a character's skill you have to put 5-10 points in that character's upgrade. Until you unlock the skill, it will only show the first line and a "locked" message. Once you unlock the skill whatever else you put in the .txt file will show up. There's another .txt file you can edit to change the locked message but I don't remember what it's called. By the way, each character has 2-3 .txt files in the folder. Make sure you write the upgrade effect in the upgrade file and the skill effects in the skill files. If a character has 2 skills they'll have 2 skill files.

Oh ok, so the skills automatically are granted when I put money into the upgrades? So are there text files for the upgrades then? I won't change the lock message then if that's all that means. No point. Do you know if there are text files for the dialogue yet (I highly doubt it at least), or where I put the text for the events? Which I'm assuming are randomly generated. The Lumen-esque lasers and the Left and Right control flipping I mean. So do you know how the skills for the bosses come into play then? This is the strangest Touhou-Len'en game I have ever played. But I'm super pumped for it. I wonder if a fan translation will be put together, unlike for the first 3 games where no such ingame translation exists? Unless there is one and I'm just not aware of it? Thanks a bunch by the way. I really appreciate your help.

There are text files for upgrades. Look in your game folder. Go to text_dat/upgrade. For each boss there should be a file that says skill_(boss's name)_00 and a file that says upgrade_(boss's name). Each player character should have 2 skills and 1 upgrade. Those are the files you edit. Skills aren't automatically granted, you still have to pay for them, you just can't even think about buying them until you have enough upgrades for that character. It's like, once you buy 5 upgrades for Yabusame you are then able to buy one of Yabusame's skills. The text files for the dialogue can be edited but there isn't an english translation yet. It's still way too early lol. The reason there was no english patch for the other games is because Jynx uses really weird coding so nobody could edit them. But it seems he noticed the issue- he made it extremly easy to edit text in this game, as you can see. I am 90% certain that there will be an english patch at some point. There aren't any text files for events, the events are in images. You have to change the images in MS paint or photoshop or something. It's a real pain but it does make the game much more enjoyable. I'd just send you the ones I made but my computer has some internet issues (commenting on my phone), sorry '^_^ Skills and upgrades from players requires that the player be in your team (ie. Yabusame, Tsubakura, and Shion can use Yabu's skills, but Fumikaido, Iyozane, and the eggplant girl can't). Some skills require the skill's owner to be in a certain slot. For example, to use Yabusame's skill you must have Yabusame in the main player slot.Details for each skill are in the pastebin. Skills and upgrades from bosses activate once you buy them. They apply to all playable characters with no special requirements. You can turn skills and upgrades on or off, by the way.
