Can we first define what "Affordable housing" even means? By it's very nature housing isn't affordable. It's one of the highest expenses in everyones budgets because people naturally get the maximum house they can afford. The last thing I would think we need is more regulation and bureaucracy. The simplest way to decrease the price of something is to increase supply of that thing. Price control through regulations is asking for failure. Tax incentives make a lot of sense along with lowering energy costs to bring down the price of materials.

Allocate 25% of the community fund to go toward things like tuition grants, strictly for local community college, trade programs and apprenticeships

As silly as the presidential candidate video was (because politician proposals can't be taken seriously), I'm looking forward to this one. It's worthwhile thinking about what housing COULD be. The Edenicity channel (here on KZbin) does a lot of work in this space. I'm partial to the Austrian model for housing, where about 60% of housing is non-market housing; that keeps housing affordable, and keeps property values up by reducing blight and homelessness.

All of the housing policies were though out! Thanks! I will be voting for the combined Mr. Washington & Mr. Dainard candidates. Americans will not be in favor of policies that are going to eliminate American jobs. So, the trade school is a good second. We definitely need trades people to carryout the Washington & Dainard policies. All the best with the new book Mrs. Fettke.

It’s as though we’d benefit from a president who has significant real estate experience.

If only they werent so focused on lining their own pockets and actually cared about the average american, then maybe we would. Greed never serves anyone well in governance.

Why would any one ever vote for Harris/Biden/Democratic parties if they care about their personal finances?

Probably because Trump wants to bring back record high inflation? Pretty much a no-brainer when you look at what the candidates are actually saying without a political lens.

Probably because everything old dumpy has said he wants to do would bring back record high inflation (forcing FED rate reductions and extreme tariffs on all imports)? Im pretty sure that isnt gonna help the average person with personal finances.
