Teacher Diaries | 21st December, 2024
Half an hour before my school day ended, I noticed a student doing something extraordinary with sand. They were designing and shaping beautiful mountains with such creativity that it left me in awe. Among them were a few bright young girls whose imaginations and artistic expressions shone through their work, proving that creativity truly resides in the depths of their hearts and minds.
Watching them for half an hour was a joyful experience. I captured these moments in a video, not just to document their efforts but to reflect on the boundless imaginative power of children. Their movements and ideas drew me in and made me ponder the unfortunate reality that often, this creativity is stifled by rigid educational systems that confine children to the four walls of a classroom.
As the class came to an end, I decided to let the students engage in free creative activities using whatever materials they could find around them. This small act was my way of nurturing their creativity and encouraging them to reconnect with nature and society. I believe that when children connect deeply with nature, they not only express themselves better but also grow into individuals who can contribute meaningfully to making the world a better place.
