BPT Steam Rice: Varieties, Quality, and Export Market | PWIP

Welcome to our channel! In this video, we will be discussing BPT Steam Rice and its different varieties. BPT Steam Rice refers to the purest form of BPT, which is also known as BPT 5204. This particular variety is not equivalent to Sona Masuri Rice, but it is highly popular in regions like Telangana and Karnataka, especially in places like Raichur and Hyderabad. The grain length of BPT Steam Rice is approximately 5 mm. Depending on the market and customer preferences, this rice can either be single-dried or double-dried.
When exporting to markets like Bangalore or Singapore, the preference is for a white finish, which requires double drying and results in a whiteness range of 39 to 40. On the other hand, markets like Sri Lanka or Tamil Nadu prefer a creamy finish, and thus, single drying with a whiteness range of 36 to 38 is acceptable. The quality of BPT Steam Rice also makes it suitable for markets in Mumbai, Gujarat, Ranchi, Delhi, and other regions, where good quality Sona Masuri Rice is in demand.
