I know a lot of people will have opinions about what I said but before this encounter, I had zero idea of what transgender even meant. I grew up in a conservative Christian household and raised up in the church. My beliefs have nothing to do with anyone else but my upbringing didn’t give me a chance to meet members apart of the LGBTQ community! I’m still learning and want to learn more and love those who feel marginalized by this society. I didn’t mean to offend a single person or group. It’s just a learning process for me too

I'm a transgender female who has yet to start my transition. I grew up in the same background you did and my parents are very unsupportive Christians. Just a bit of clarification though, you can't become transgender, it's how God made the person. It took me 10 years to come out of hiding because of how my parents reacted back when I was 13. I'm 24 now and will be 25 in December.
@3Danful6 жыл бұрын
@@alexbenjaminlubbers there's no such thing as god, atleast Interms of our earth and everything on it. The Big bang theory is the only question mark. Everything that happens too you that makes you, you from birth is dictated by your mother's bodily health, genes combining mother and father and dictated by hormonal levels may also influence the gender you become or how dominant the genes are. It's no different to disabilities dictated by corrupted genes that may develop you differently from normal babies. Some don't become apparent until later. Eitherway there is evidence to suggest that confusion can happen where you develop a female induced brain while developing a male body. It's no different with inter sexd and female to male individuals too. Alot of people will always be confused about their own bodies corrupted by different feelings that are masculine and feminine. Thats why some don't come out until later but also due to restriction caused by society where religion is rife for transphobia homophobia and discrimination. You can lose your job, your partner even your family and friends for coming out. I know I have been deeply affected by coming out and no longer have a life as a result because of society.

As a transgender woman I love VS. I went into a VS in Seattle and the ladies were awesome they had no problems fitting me for my first bra. I was pre hormones at the time and had a full beard. One of the sales lady’s asked if I needed help and I told her I was trans and wanted to get fitted but don’t want to make anyone uncomfortable she said don’t worry about that. The hole experience was nerve racking but when all said and done I had a good time. I don’t wear anything else but VS. love the story

It’s amazing how ONE person’s acceptance of a marginalized individual can have such a profound impact! You probably don’t realize how you validated Daisy’s existence! That’s so critical when a transgender person is in that early stages of transition. I had a similar good experience in Lane Bryant and now ALL the sales staff there are like friends to me! They’ll run around and bring suggested pieces into the change area for me & offer genuine feedback on things I try on. That positive affirmation means the WORLD to us! So thank you! 👍🙏🏻♥️

This was a great story. Thank you for sharing it with us. I'll never forget my first trip into a department store and attempt to try it on in a fitting room something that I liked. I was so ignorant. I knew nothing about women's sizes. I didn't even know the difference between petite and + sizes. I wasn't passing very well and the sales person, an older woman, refused to let me try it on. She was so incensed that I looked masculine and wanted to try on something feminine. I was so embarrassed, I fled. It took me another month to work up the courage to try again. Fortunately the sales person in the second store was much more understanding and helpful. I'll never purchase another product from that first department store. Thank you for your sensitivity.

Wow, it's been a while since I've shopped (or attempted to) at a Victoria's Secret store. When I walked in, the woman on the floor seemed very helpful, but I was far too scared to know what she might've been thinking. I wasn't sure if I was being seen as some pervert or something. This was before I even began my medical transition but I was "out" for the most part. I never got properly fitted because I basically just jolted out of there before I could buy anything. I wish I could go back to that day and tell myself not to be afraid. Or at least convince myself that there are people like you who genuinely just want to help. Thank you for this and I hope this helps anyone who is in this situation. And to "Daisy", I am beyond happy that you have found who you truly are. The most difficult part of the road is accepting yourself.

I just go with sizes and brands that seemed to fit o.k but it is difficult to find one that really fits perfect. It can take a lot of courage for trans women who are not 100% passable. I am proud of Daisy to have that courage and for you for being an understanding person and doing what you felt was the right thing to do. I hope to have that kind of experience if I ever get the courage up to finally be fitted for a properly fitting bra. You are amazing and thank you for sharing this story!.

A wonderful story! I am a transitioning transgender woman. Transition usually takes 3 forms, medical, social and legal. Each one of these can take literally years to complete. So, you can have someone who is just starting out, who may have taken decades to build up the courage to try dressing as other gender. This person may look very masculine but is actually female inside...female soul. I'll focus on male to female. They are female, but it often depends how someone is presenting...so a trans person who comes in to your store presenting male, use male pronouns...if presenting as female use female pronouns. . .if unsure, ask. Someone this early in dressing, could be cross dressing or transitioning... You don't know unless they tell you and they may not even know for sure what the future holds. So, be very empathetic, kind and respectful because they feel very vulnerable. You can literally improve their feeling of self worth by a 1000x. I wish Victoria secret had more ranges in size for very small breasted women, but there is Pink...which serves younger lesser developed customers. It's nice because the two store are conected. My transition is a few years in and I blend very well. I was very pleased with the fitting and the knowledge and checking sizes. Thank you,... I also, returned on a later date to fit my daughter for her first real bra. I was treated as her mother as I should be and Iit felt wonderful sharing the positive fitting experience with her. ...the point is we are people, parents, families and if you recognize the humanity in us you will discover we are pretty much like you and everyone else. Thank you for support and sharing. I encourage you and others to learn more and to talk with people in the trans community how to better serve them. .

I am fortunate to have a supportive wife that's helped me be confident buying the clothes and makeup I desire. Many don't have that confidence or support and your customer was definitely one of them. After all, toxic masculinity says it's "wrong" for men to wear things or do things that are meant for women (even if those things were once for men or there's no good reason that all genders can't wear/do them).

This is really sweet. I’ve been really apprehensive about going to get fitted for a bra... but I think I’m going to go to VS and see if I can fix that 🙈 It’s just really nerve-racking for trans people and crossdressers because most people don’t look at us the same way they look at women in a Victoria’s Secret store. We stick out, and a lot of times we draw more attention to ourselves than we want, and that’ can be really hard to deal with. But hearing about the way you dealt with this customer has been really reassuring... I think you treated this person with so much compassion and consideration of their feelings, if the rest of the VS staff are like you, I’m never gonna shop anywhere else for underwear and lingerie 🥺💕

Up to this point now that I am on hormones for 2 months..life is changing for me and the breasts are starting to form!! I'm hoping you still use this and read this post. Im almost 38 years old. And I just came out as transgender to my parents, and them and my sister are all that know in person so far. And I'm 6'2" and built like a lineman in football. So when I heard you talk about the person in the video I'm thinking that could be me, it's not, but I'm the same size basically. I just want to thank you. For being how you are. I grew up in a Christian household and wasn't around the LGBTQ community. And growing up in the south, people believe gay and bi and different is wrong. But when you go through your life unhappy and never knowing why really, and then when you ask yourself questions and sit and think and realize you're transgender. And you go and ask questions and look for answers else where and when you finally admit it to someone and you feel lighter and freer than you ever have. Sigh. Thank you.

I think you’re awesome! Unfortunately not everyone is as understanding as you are. As a trans woman. This was very difficult going out and getting fitted for my first bra. Due to my biological make up I’ve been producing more estrogen than testosterone. So my breast are all natural. When I started growing into a C cup, I started experiencing a lot of breast pain. My doctor recommended that I change from the Cotton sports bras that I was wearing which had no support to a bra that has support. When I went to get fitted for a bra. I had one of my female friends come with me. The first two boutiques we went to. I was turned away. I respected the staffs. Response to not wanting to assist somebody who is in the middle of their transition. But the third boutique we went to. The staff and the manager were very understanding of my situation. What makes me a little different than other trans women. Is that my transitioning is not a decision of my own. It’s due to medical problem. And when a person has larger breast. It can be quite painful with not wearing the correct bra. Plus after getting fitted with the correct bra. I was astounded because I didn’t think my breast were that large. For quite a while I’ve been wearing bralettes / Cotton sports bras with no support made by Haines, and fruit of the loom. They’re cute, but they don’t offer any support

You are just an amazing woman to be able to help her get the bra she was comfortable in and made her feel good about herself. I wish more people were like you...

I want to say thank you for doing what you did to help a transgender woman to come out. Baby steps. I also am slowly coming out as transgender. I absolutely love when the salesperson is helpful and understanding.

I wish people are just nice like you. I am also a MtF transgender without doing any transition yet, so I don't dare to visit the store cause I am scared how people judge me and I might make other cis-women feel uncomfortable. Choosing to buy online through Amazon, but sometimes it doesn't fit well because I was not raised as a woman before. However, I think it is just a bra, that's it.

I am trans female and it’s uncomfortable for us to buy clothing but a little not call them females and not refer them as male it can trigger a lot of bad memories

Due to size limitations, I'm surprised this guy even tried V.S. About the most he could do, without someone like yourself, would be to get a fitting...in some stores. It's a tough thing for guys to work up the nerve to go into the lingerie section, but it's even tougher to find receptive places. Good for you.

I just watched this. Thank you for sharing your experience with a transgender person, I'm a transgender woman as well, born as a male, not fully transitioned yet. But. This made me so happy. Thank you for sharing it once again

I'm a Transwoman, and have never been fitted for a bra. Except to do it myself. My measurements say in some places that i am a 40 A Cup to a AA Cup, while others say i am a 38 A cup.I have found that a true 40 A and AA cup just fits to loose the band moves up and down, and their is a little extra fabric in the cup of the A and not enough in the AA, The problem here is that a 40 AA cup i spill out of a little, Thats on a formed bra, spillage is about the thickness of the cup. on a 38A cup they seem to fit good on the cup, but the band sometimes feels tight, depending on the bra. Now to be honest i have never shopped in a store for bras, i have always gotten mine online, from like Amazon and Ebay. on average bras ordered from Asia are usually a size smaller then the label. So i usually order a size bigger but keep the CUP size the same.So a 38A cup becomes a 40A cup. On amazon i can order a 38A and it fits, just a little tight but not uncomfortable or digging in to much. I follow the rule of 2 fingers between the skin and wing of the bra and making sure the center gore of the bra lays flat, and i fill the upper cup and under cup. Most all the bras i buy are wired lightly lined to unlined bras. I avoid pushup bras, simply because i dont feel i have enough to push up, even on an A cup. THE HARDEST PART FOR ME WAS WHEN I FIRST MEASURED MYSELF FOR A BRA, WAS WHEN I FIRST STARTED TRANSITION AND HAD NO BRAS. all the sites say wear a soft unlined bra and take your measurements, Impossible to do when you just start and have no bra to work from, and the bra should fit snug but not dig in. So here is how i came to my measurements for a bra. 3 MEASUREMENTS ; first around the chest just under the breast 36 in ; keeping it at the same level as the band measurement wrap around to the top of the breast just below the arm pit 37 1/3 ; fullest part of the breast 40 1/4.So i used the number between the first number and the last number for the band, 38 In. Cup measured as an A cup Now i know these are most likely wrong all the way around, but its all i have to work with to measure myself.

So that transgender girl isn’t a guy. So just please know that in the future, please explain this in a way that you’re not calling her a guy or he. As a fellow trans girl, please don’t refer even in past tense. She is and always was a girl, regardless of your discovery as such.

i'm a trans woman, most of us just starting to transition we appreciate the employee taking us to the very back. it brings less attention towards us, when i started to transition i didn't want anyone se me try on clothes. i didn't even want to go in to the mens restroom because it just doesn't feel right. Victoria's secret was the best experience in a woman's clothing store i will never forget my first time in there.

I think you did an amazing job you have found a new fan and that would be great if they had you in charge then they might not be having such problems cuz even with me passing as I do whenever I go by Victoria's Secret it's still there we don't want you here vibe whereas in Aerie I walk in and they give me the kind of response that you gave him the kind of hey girl lets get you something cute so kudos to you and thank you for trying to be respectful of all the customers great job 10 out of 10
