When I got braces, I was always told not to get black bands by the orthodontist. So every time I would get black and another dark color. I know she was trying to keep me from having dark colors so it wouldn't look like I have dirty teeth. I didn't like being told no and I was going to get what I wanted!

My teeth were almost Identical to these! My top one wasn't quite as pointed backwards but it was still tucked behind and was behind the bottom row. My bottom one had slight overlapping among the middle two. I got fast braces. They put the front 3 (supposed to be 4, But due to my tucked tooth it wouldn't fit) brackets on top for the first 3 weeks. Every 3 weeks you get adjustments. The brackets are triangular and the wire is flat and is the same wire throughout treatment. The combination of bracket and wire shape move the tooth and root simultaneously which is why they are fast braces. The adjustments are how the bands are wrapped. I had individuals for awhile, then a powerchain on certain sections. Then the dreaded band from top to bottom hooks. Within the first 3 weeks there was enough space created to put a bracket on that top tucked tooth, along with the rest of my upper and lowers. Within the next 3 weeks I was out of the bite blocks that they placed on my molars and that top tooth was in front of that bottom row where it needed to be. The next 7 and a half months was just getting everything settled in, interproximal reduction (shaping the teeth so they fit flat against each other with no black triangles at the gum line) and getting my bite lined out. 9 months and I was done! I had to do it on my own at 25 yrs old with financing but I did it!! I don't regret any of the pain I endured. It was only temporary. This smile is forever!

Here in Croatia braces will cost me around 2800$. It's usually around 1700$ but I have to wear mine for at least 3 years. I know it sounds cheap according to USA, but our life standards are lower so it is expensive for us as well. Also our basic dental care is free. Btw. I couldn't help myself to hear she said ''Watch youtube videos, you should learn how to clean.'' but she doesn't clean hers that well.

My dentist told me that my 2 of my missing 2nd molar (1 up and down each) will be replaced with a fake one only after my braces, it would come along with my retainers. Won't the gap left by my 2nd molar be filled during the process of braces? I really thought that tooth implant or something like that should be made during the process of braces. Ok Ik I can’t possibly be the only one to realize this but why dint the orthodontist clean all the glue off her teeth I personally got braces and when I first got them put on they actually cleaned the glue from around my brackets it just looks like she has a whole bunch of yellow stuff on her teeth🤦🏾‍♀️

Hi my friend and don't say that I'm pretty sure your teeth looks way better than they were 2 years ago... but for sure maybe don't look like the way you want or picture them... but try to remember of ask your dentist for the first picture right before you got your braces on... and see if there is any change that's the best time to ask your dentist what is going on....
