Thanks. Unfortunately it's had to be closed temporarily, as there are some issues with the groundworks - it appears there may be some glass in the topsoil used.

Great video, sadly we had nothing like that when I was a kid. Although there was no such thing as skate boards. Only old fashion roller skates. Put a hard backed book on it, sit on it and launch yourself from the steepest hill leading down to the Tyne. Great fun.

We used to tie a sledge to the back of my mate's dad in winter. Guess that's not allowed now.

I believe it's been in the planning stage for 10 years, and cost nearly £250,000 to build. So I hope it gets treated with the respect it deserves and becomes a useful facility for many, many years 👍

You guys are lucky to have some proper concrete to skate. Most folk have to make do with a skinny, slippy, municipal council created metal 'ramps' with terrible transitions that are only fit for toddlers to slide down.

Its a great resource for those that can use it - I think my days for that are long gone, LOL - though not convinced the location opposite and old people's home is ideal!
