For those that find this release too "sharp" with basses being a bit killed, here is a new edit from this version I did (in 2019). I think I abused a bit too much of the sharpness on this edit here. At the time I had another sound device and I thought it was good and better that way. Today I changed my mind and therefore I did this new edit, with the original sound almost untouched this time (the extended edit remains almost the same). Check it out here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/nZTXqWRpl9OElbs

The T-800’s relentless pursuit of its objectives, its ability to withstand setbacks, and its singular focus on completing its mission reflect the same mindset that Arnold has exhibited in his personal and professional life. In fact, Arnold often speaks about his own journey as one of constant discipline, vision, and perseverance, which mirrors the T-800’s cold determination. This theme of unbreakable willpower, regardless of circumstances, has been a key part of both his personal legacy and the character he portrayed in the film.

Song has such a melancholy darkness to it. But the higher tones always feel like they represent the tiny glimmer of hope at the end of the dark tunnel. Humanity will defeat this cold souless darkness in the end, but the sad feel of the music is the amount of pain and suffering, death and destruction that humanity will have to go through before victory over the machines. The first movie has the best feel to me and a theme to match. Great remix too!

Totally agree. The first Terminator is a very underrated film with great performances that is only let down by a couple of ropey low budget effects which weren't even great at the time.
@MatthewMaloney-fj4zz3 ай бұрын
@@GetReal77 T1 was made for $6.4 million (and it had only been budgeted at $4 million originally). Aliens was $18.5 million and was his first major studio picture. The budgets really went stratospheric with T2, which was the first $100 million movie.
@MatthewMaloney-fj4zz3 ай бұрын
@@GetReal77 I thought T2 was a good sequel but I think it's quite overrated. Although I thought Robert Patrick was a brilliant piece of casting, I found the liquid metal concept a bit too far-fetched. You could almost believe the Terminator in the first movie could one day exist. I liked the idea that it got damaged but kept going. Whereas the liquid metal creature could never exist, it's so far beyond being possible. It's more like a spirit than a cyborg. The funny thing is though that Cameron originally had the idea of a liquid metal creature for the first movie but abandoned the idea because he realized it couldn't be done with the technology available in '83-84. So on the first movie he settled for having the Schwarzenegger Terminator as the bad guy but always had it in his mind to develop the technology which would make a liquid metal creature possible in a future movie.
@MatthewMaloney-fj4zz3 ай бұрын
@@GetReal77 Yep, and they were really the only reason the movie was made, because the plot was essentially a rehash of the first one, except this time they're after the boy and not his mother. I remember somebody once saying on a forum that T2 was arguably the first movie where the script was there to serve the effects and not the other way around.

I'm truly hoping they go back to telling a story within the future like Salvation did. For all its flaws and no doubt there's a handful, that movie still showed potential for where they can take Terminator films without going down the same trope as a majority of Terminator movies have. The story possibilities for Terminator films set after the nuclear fallout are much more vast where you can involve many different protagonist or groups, telling different stories in different parts of the world. It just seems like the more logical choice at this point. Go Rated R, or edgy PG13 if you have to with an emphasis on a sense of horror with occasional action scenes. One could hope i guess...

Have I got news for you. You should play the "Terminator: Resistance" game that came out a couple years ago that goes into a nice story regarding what happened during the Future War era and how it ended.
@nicarlos733 жыл бұрын
@@Mazryonh Yup I checked it out a few months ago, and that's what I'm talking about with the type of storytelling you can go into. Its obvious that the dev team had a limited budget to work with and the voice acting isn't great at times.. honestly moments where it was pretty bad, but the game is still a blast to play and hits the right notes for what can make a good Terminator game or movie for that matter, in terms of the vibe and atmosphere. You can tell it was developed by a team that had a passion for the franchise. It goes to my point of telling stories post Judgment day and the possibilities that are open as a result.

@@nicarlos73 Glad you checked out "Terminator: Resistance." It's probably the best "Future War" story we'll get in the Terminator universe, unless a better movie is ever made covering that time period. SkyNet was active for 30 years in the old T1 and T2 canon, so there's lots of opportunities to tell unique and compelling stories within that time period.

I don't really think anybody could go beyond the original Terminator film, since the theme of man vs machine reached a peak that many won't achieve past that anytime soon. In fact, that ship sailed a long time ago. And that was just that. No convoluted Sarah in time-travel scenarios or anything woke. The first two Alien films, especially the second, provide a blueprint of what feminism should appear like in the classical sense. I will never convince myself that you could repeat a theme perpetuated in modern society, that it would not be made cheap and phony. Especially strong female characters, LGBTQI+ attractions, and irredeemably villainous white males. Tell me something that could be more authentic in a fantasy setting? Yeesh. EDIT: Though that's not to say that Terminator 2 had its high points.

Great extension. It captures the movie's sci-fi-spirit and dramaturgy excellently. Why not expanding it into one of these e.g. 10 hours laps?

Hello. Thank you. 1/ It would be EXTREMELY boring... 2/ File size would be EXTREMELY gigantic... A simple 10 minutes video like this already takes approximately between 1 and 2 gigabites on my computer with x265 codec. Imagine 10 hours... 😮🤐 + probably a full day of rendering the video...

@@GillesNuytens Okay, I see the extra work (not to mention the time to upload that large sized file).

@@Jupiterblitz I don't know how others do that but they probably know better how to do this than me. Maybe there's a system to just loop the same file, if cut properly, without having to render 10 hours. No idea. This said, you can still use the loop option here on YT.

Great work you've provided with a lot of efforts being invested in. Thank you again for uploading and sharing :)
