Used to watch Brad at the Valley Hunt club in Pasadena in the yearly So Cal Intercollegiate Championships up real close. He was a very gritty player.

I’ve always liked BG but that 6 inches in 6 weeks at 18 years old is total BS.

It's amazing how everything can change with just a minor change in thinking, or even just by showing someone kindness.

Brad you tell great stories for sure! But I think it would be a little better if you let the interviewer ask more questions. You're also famous for sucking all the air out of the room.😂

Mr. Jaramillo - Gabe - I have written many times thanking you for your generosity by providing coaching tips to the tennis community; this series and these stories are truly inspirational and as powerful as any correction. Helping players understand the history of the game and how it touches our lives make me all the more committed to playing well, as best as I can, and living fully...! Thank you, again...

OMG Myron McNamara was my coach during my high school years! We lived in the same town and would come over to a local court and coach me. One time he told be a story about Brad Gilbert when he was the coach at ASU, and how Brad came to practice one day in boxer shorts and Myron sent him home. lol For all these years I never knew if this was true or not, but having Brad talking about how he didn't get along with Myron sums things up.

I played for Coach Chivington in the '85 team with Marcelo, Layne, Nelson, Robert, John, Kelly ... Naturally "The Coach" set us up in pre-season against many of the Pac10 teams of the day. Best year of my tennis life. We went on to play for Coach Hubble at SJSU.

His 1st Coach at Foothill JC, Tom Chivington, had tremendous impacts on alot of young NorCal guys who played for him. I went to Canada JC just up the road same time, also a top JC and with an amazing coach, Rich Anderson. Have always followed BG's career, interesting guy.

His name is Deacon Maximus Dussault, today he is probably one of the best players in the world at his age group. Keep following him, he’ll be next.

Brad Gilbert's stories are gold. He should be one of the tv announcers on tennis matches way more often. I can't believe we have to listen to guys like Chris Fowler drone on endlessly - when we could have Brad or Darren Cahill or Jim Courier, etc...

You Djoke fans just can’t accept that not everybody adores him. You get that from him. He’s always hated that not everybody loves him and that is one of many reasons some people don’t like him. His behavior in his match against Nardi is another good example of why people don’t like him. It’s fine that you like him. Why is it so important that everybody else does too?
