This type of footage -- the qualifying rounds, behind the scenes stuff, how the balls are selected/mapped/utilized, and just a more human side of the PBA Tour player -- is exactly more of what the PBA needs. The grind is a massive part of what the tour is about. Knowing how they got to the show and what it took to get there can cast a wider net on a potentially bigger fanbase, in my opinion.

Just love watching Kyle and Brad coming into their stride for the year. Watching them bowl great along with their tips has helped make me a better bowler and I'm still throwing house balls lol. Preface my next comment with I know little to nothing about bowling mechanics. But, my observation as well as watching the "practice day video" where brad was working on keeping his trailing leg/toe on the deck, a lot of the time brad is missing or showing bad inconsistency is when he pops up or jumps up at his release as well. The higher his trailing leg/foot comes up, the more he is missing his shots. If you go back and watch his strike shots, clean strikes, his mechanics appear to be what he was looking for, and working on in his practice day.

An interesting question to ask the tour pros is where do they target. Downlane, arrows or dots at the foul line.

I'm not a pro but I target where I set the ball down and aim it at the break point. Hopefully the idea is that I have read the oil correctly and it follows that line into the pocket. Back in the 90s I was watching Walter Ray Williams who was miked up. He made a bad shot and said "you laid it on the wrong board dummy". I always try to lay the ball down on the right board. I don't think most bowlers do this.

I did the same thing also as I am RH but have poor vision in my right eye so I was more accurate by looking down where I was setting the ball down then watching the ball path, also I had a lot of spine tilt, a bowler called me hunch back so that also played a factor.

Wow, when I first started bowling a million years ago, some old guy taught me "trust is a must, or your game is a bust". That last game by Kyle, the 300 by Beast Malott, and that 279 from Kris Prather, they were all way left and they literally put the ball on the first board. Kyle carry 4 light hits in a row and on every single one of those shots I thought he had a decent chance of putting the ball in the right gutter. That's trusting your ball and your game.

Question for Brad; It seems like his backswing is getting too high, specially in the shot at 15;20...its getting so high that he is losing momentum and the ball will never ever recover...I think he would get more controll of the ball if the swing was a bit lower and he didnt have to force it too much...just a tip/observation from a retired bowler. Hope it helps, and keep on the good work!

How much oil can a reactive ball hold until it can not hold no more. I clean my ball after league but on sport shot my ball seems to be covered with so much oil my removal pad does not remove all of it during game. I had ball in to have oil removed beginning of season and seemed to absorb oil better but lately is not absorbing, Is it time for a new ball maybe? how often can I detox a ball? I watch you guys always buying new balls off of truck so is it because oil soaked balls not reacting for you or just want drill a ball? My favorite ball has been discontinued and finding a replacement has been a problem. The Storm Rocket (orange/black) has been my go to ball for several years.

Ever just run into lanes where you want to hit the pocket light to carry? Like sometimes the ball can have to much energy and just leave ringing 10 after ringing 10. Do you try and hit it light or just hope for carry?

@@sixtycargothefightinggameg569 I’m assuming you bowl one handed? Also what’s your high game/series? Personally my high is only 191 (I’ve got it twice). I do bowl one-handed but I am in the process of switching to two handed because of thumb and rev issues. My goals rn are a 200 game and a 525 series. Ik it doesn’t seem very impressive but I started bowling for the the first time in November so I’m pretty happy with myself. Our league just ended and I actually placed 2nd in the handicap singles tourney. I plan to join a summer league with friends. I’ll come back with updates if I do anything cool :)
