Major Mika showing that no matter how the lanes break down he can stay right and keep it in front of him. I always love that style of bowling. Great finish Brad!!!

Remember, it's the heads that burn. Eliminate the heads, eliminate the problem of burnt heads. I get it, it then becomes a game of how far to loft it, versus a game of how frequently and how far to keep moving.

@@stormchaser735 100% Agree. I do feel like there is a bit more that can be done with equipment, speed, and hand that can keep players with straighter angles. Less can go wrong. These days it's all about the loft and the hook. Everyone wants revs and loft. Then you see players like Lavoie that play the finesse game beautifully. Norm duke comes to mind too from the past. He could sling it if he wanted to, but always kept it simple. It is more simple just to go right and loft it, but I feel like brad could really benefit from learning a bit of that from Norm. Every time Brad keeps it simple and keeps the angles a bit straighter he does well. Then when he slows it down and starts the slow swing, it kind of all breaks down. However, I say all of this as an arm chair quarter back and he personally knows Norm so I am sure he has learned a ton from him. Just sharing what I see. I reserve the right to be 100% wrong :)

Agreed. There are lot of tools (changes) that can be used, but bowling is a game of accuracy (hitting your target) and precision (repeatability). The more variables you change, the more difficult repeatability becomes. The easiest answer would be changing equipment, since it does not require a change in your fundamentals, but few bowlers have the array of equipment, if it were simply a matter of using "another" ball. Now the issue becomes whether the bowler has the knowledge of how each ball in their personal arsenal will uniquely respond, with the knowledge of how each responds to a specific condition, on that particular pattern. Changes in ball speed is another technique, but that requires changing your line, changes in your release, which impacts your timing. Changes in hand position presents even larger challenges, in that you're now deliberately changing what muscle memory is instructing your body to subconsciously do. Hand positions changes include axis rotation, axis tilt, hand position, finger position. Again, factors that that goes against what your mind is subconsciously telling you to do throughout your armswing and during the release. Basically, as you alter your underlying style, repeatability becomes increasingly difficult because of the thousands of frames of practice you've done, specifically to improve your accuracy and precision - in order to increase the repeatability of your release.

If I won, Id pick a ball to drill as a spare ball. Thanks to watching Brad and Kyle (and Packy and Walter Ray WIlliams) Ive gotten the bug again. I have not bowled in 20 years due to my shoulder blowing out, except for the 3 games I bowled with my brother in law recently. I went 97, 145, 149, mostly trying to figure out my foot steps again and timing. With a house ball. I just went to my local pro shop and decided to go with the NU Blue and the pro is drilling it full fingertip with inserts (Ive never used em) with a standard Pin up layout. Im also signing up for a senior league (I just turned 70) and Im so looking forward to it. I may not be the 200 avg bowler I once was, but sure looking forward to the fun again. Thanks a ton Brad and Kyle for the imputus to just do it.

Great bowling guys! Just a couple of observations: Crystal Elliott looks like a lot of fun to bowl with. This format allows us, the viewers to see more personality from the bowlers that we see on a week-to-week basis, so for me (not sure about the bowlers) it was a fun, unique event to watch. I wish Mika had turned the anchor over to you Brad. You have been the hottest bowler on tour the last couple of months. It should have been yours. No disrespect to Mika however. Good luck at Trials Brad. Looking forward to seeing you both in the coming months.

Man, Brad you were on it. You were throwing so smooth and confident. You are due...you are due....de. Dude. Since I went 2-handed a few years ago, I will say..lofting has become one of the hardest things to do accurately than I did one-handed.

Hi Brad & Kyle. Enjoyed the Trio video. I probably missed this somewhere along the way, so I apologize in advance for asking a stupid question. At the Nationals, I had seen the video where Brad was number 1 in Singles, by my math with an average of 277. I don't know how anyone could ever beat that series. Incredible Bowling. What were the Final standings? I remember from one of your videos, you only had a week to go. Brad you have been bowling really well over the last several months. Continued success.

@BradandKyleBowl I'm sorry to hear that. Pretty incredible. I was bowling in a Scratch League many years ago and had a guy join my Team for 1 week. One of my Team members didn't show, so the Manager comes over and asks if this gentleman could bowl with us. Yes, of course. He shoots 201 and comes over to me and apologizes and then proceeds to tell me that he would have to shoot a 600 to get his 800. I just laughed. He shot the first 300 and I am amazed. He kept striking and proceeds to shoot another 300 for an 801 Series. Most incredible thing I had ever witnessed. I guess on any given day when you get into the Zone, greatness can be displayed.
