People always concentrate on big cities like Detroit, Cleveland, and Buffalo. But there are so many other smaller cities and towns that suffered as much or more from industry leaving America. Places like Gary, IN, Youngstown, Dayton, and Akron, OH, Camden, NJ, Chester PA, and other unknown small towns and cities like Braddock that few people are aware of.

Yea it's crazy to see these smaller places. At least the big cities still have all the baseline services needed for a city like police/fire/education and healthcare... so there are at least some decent paying jobs. Youre absolutely right, its the smaller, less well known areas that have seen the most dramatic decline (albeit at a smaller scale than the big cities)
