The social services dept came under the spot light because of the murder of a little girl by her mother's partner. It was reported that the stuff going on in this smaller city is far worse than other much larger cities. It is shocking, the depravity, complete cesspit. I never felt safe there 20 years ago. I'm from Bradford ,, if you don't know what's going on in Bradford then you would think it's alright but if you know people and you know what's going on then it can be scary , half of the people you talk to don't know what's going on, it's the younger generation that just don't give a f#@k these days, everyone who does wrong in Bradford seems to be competing against one another, it's a mixed race town and they just don't get on very well, it is a bad place to live but I wouldn't say it's the worst but it is getting there. I lived in Bradford for 3months during my masters degree.In that short time I got followed/stalked four times sometimes even by men in cars. I was verbally abused. On one walked someone shouted some very intimidating language.I was very scared living there.This was around 15 years ago.Sounds like the stats are even worse now.Such a shame as there is also lots of beautiful things about the city

I've lived in BD7 for five years and only heard about a couple stabbings with some closed roads, but never seen anything in all that time besides a small fist fight on Morley Street... Bradford ain't that bad, but there's little to no night life and most if not all women there are either ninjas or too chonky for my taste... + the place is full of trash since lots of people come from places where they're used to treating the streets like a garbage can, which makes things very sad, seeing all streets littered with takeaway boxes and cans, rats running around comfortably and stuff...when you drift outside the center, most neighbourhoods just don't look all that welcoming and it's sad to see, because England is a beautiful place, but the foreigners coming in with bad habits seem to ruin a lot... when I stepped outside and went to see York, Liverpool, Leeds, it felt like I stepped out into another universe lol

The statistics in Bradford do speak for itself! The city is full of drugs, and high adverse childhood experiences. Lack of employment and opportunities have led to the rise in drug dealing. Lack of reporting of crimes is an issue ! More can be done to end violence in the city . The local newspaper always report on crimes in the city. The conservatives cut important resources such as funding for youth services and that’s had an impact on the city.

I don’t think this is simply an issue of race in Bradford. Some of the roughest areas I’ve visited or experienced were deprived white areas, such as Holmewood, Buttershaw and yes parts of Shipley such as Windhill. Asian areas have many issues however there has been improvements in recent years. Sadly, these improvements, such as an increase in an educated class emerging, will remain overshadowed by young Asian lads driving recklessly, involving themselves with drugs and partaking in violence. Within the Asian community, young Asian lads remain the big issue, with their wannabe gangster attitude. If parents parented their children better, much of these problems would cease to exist and real change would come. Ask any reasonable adult from Holmewood about the root of the community’s issues, and they’ll tell you it’s the youth and the lack of parenting and discipline. Also what isn’t mentioned often is that Bradford is the UK’s youngest city. Rebellious or anti-social cultures and ideas, historically speaking, emerge from and are tailored towards the youth. Perhaps this has something to do with the crime statistics in Bradford? It’s a young population with problems arguably typical of youngsters, driving its crime statistics.

I happily and safely walk through predominantly asian communities day or night without worrying. Would I do the same with Holmewood? Not in a million years. Even in the daytime. I have a lot of Asian friends here. I also get on incredibly well with all the cab and minicar drivers too and it's usually the cab and taxi drivers that get the rough end of the deal by getting bricks thrown through their car windows when driving through 99% white areas. It happens so frequently that there is now no go areas for taxis. You simply will not get a taxi dropping you off anywhere near some places.

Bradford has its problems just like anywhere else, but it's definitely not the worst city in the uk, and the crime is no higher than anywhere else either. The only downfall her is the council has destroyed it, theirs hardly any decent place to go shopping, if you want to buy good clothes you have to go to Leeds, so yeah bradford council arn't fit for purpose and they all need sacking for what good they are, and the other downfall to bradford is the amount of mosques and take aways and mobile phone shops as well as restuaronts, other wise bradfords ok.
