Respect to both of them. I KNOW what that fear feels like having battled my way through the AFF skydive training to get my licence, and vomiting before each one of my first 20+ jumps from sheer fear. Not only is it terrifying, it's very unpleasant physically to be THAT terrified and also exhausting. No shame in backing out at the last second, it's better to back out than to have a cardiac arrest. I couldn't back out of the skydives, I'd paid for the full course up front, but to be fair, I HAD done a couple of tandem jumps first, so I knew what I was getting myself into. Bungee jumping is a whole different kettle of fish, and I'm honestly not sure if I'd be able to do it! I trust a parachute rig, and I trusted the people who packed my canopy, plus there is a reserve parachute just in case there is a problem with the main one. With bungee jumping, you don't have a reserve. I'm sure that same as skydive it's FAR safer than it looks, but that wouldn't alter the feeling while standing on the edge, or the fact that the human body is hard wired to be at best VERY uncomfortable in that situation, and at worst, to feel debilitating terror. It DOES look an amazing experience, and I suspect that in one way it is similar to skydive....Once you've committed, and left the plane / or bungee platform, the experience becomes instantly absolutely amazing!

Oh WOW, I could FEEL Bradleys fear just watching. My comment below was before having seen the full vid. Takes guts to stand there and to KNOW your limits and make that decision that it's just not worth it! NO shame for him backing out.

I'm glad you didn't do it, you could of had a hart attack! I'm scared of heights and jumped off a small cliff, that's the highest i had ever been and i had chest pains from the fear of it! Never again.

THAT would be my greatest worry! I'm a licenced skydiver and the training and jumps to gain my licence finally got rid of my fear of heights in a skydive situation.....Doing a bungee jump off a dam is a totally different situation. When you're at 15,000ft in a plane, and look out of the door, there is NOTHING close by to give you a real concept of the almost 3 mile height, you're so high that it just doesn't feel real. With bungee, you've got the wall close by, and that would give a real feel to the terrifying height. I just KNOW that I'd be standing on that platform, shaking, and vomting! A heart attack / cardiac arrest would be a real risk for me!
