In the 90's, some artists and Tv Shows used it that way too. Today, the flag is a sign of rebellion for absolutely nobody, and it's just another reminder of the south's tragic past and modern-day supremacy.

You just don’t like it because it’s not what you grew up listening to and/or playing, has no bearing on whether it’s objectively good sounding or not. There’s a reason this new style hasn’t just died out, it’s because there are people for whom it actually sounds good and neat. And it happens to be that most of them are younger. Familiarity bias isn’t necessarily a bad thing, but if you don’t acknowledge it’s there you will end up with clouded judgments.
