Sent to Earth from the dying planet of Krypton as a baby, Kal-El was found by farmers Martha and Jonathan Kent and raised as their son, Clark. What I don't understand is, instead of being molded in Blue, Red, flesh, etc. the whole thing is molded in black and then painted. So it scuffs incredibly easily.

Love the light blue. With that said, my only interest in this figure is to take the mullet head and plop him on his original proportionally-accurate first figure with the bolder blue, thus creating Return Of Superman!

Anyone else find it weird that This, TDKR Superman, and the upcoming Crisis Earth 2 Superman are the only 3 McFarlane "Classic" looking Superman figures that don't have the Rebirth wrist Cuffs? Pretty much every single classic superman figure from Todd has those Cuffs because of the Reuse of the arm mold, even that upcoming "Classic Superman" with the S on the belt has the Cuffs.

What I did was take the Dark Knight Returns Superman (with Darker Blue) and swap heads with this figure and now the Dark Knight Returns Superman is more accurate and long haired Superman was Dark Blue so it works.

Those MCE card stands are great, but I legit pulled out eight of them last night and it drove me mad. I dunno what the heck to do with them either. Love this Supes figure, though. Probably my fave Supes yet! Great review, Brad! Cheers!

That image on the package isn't accurate to the return of Superman either. I think it's a variant of a Superman Unchained issue or a variant from the Retroactive issue from some time back.

I knew you would notice the resemblance to the overload superman! I was even hoping you would try the head of the death metal Superman on this figure to complete the look. I guess I'll try it when I get mine. Great video and fun.

I kit bashed a classic ish superman out of the superman vs ultraman 2 pack with hush trunks waiting for this mullet head to show up!

I think it almost works as Howard Porter's early JLA Superman with a slimmer torso and different S or something. I actually like what I'm seeing of the reuse for Ed McGuinness' Bizarro and wish that this had at least used Bizarro's new S, flipped, and an Ed McGuinness head. As it stands, I have an Atomic Skull Superman torso with Hush limbs and this head is going on that body. My other comment is that I'm feeling a shortage of flight stands between this and all the JSA characters who came without one. At $30, I'd be much happier (I'm not UNhappy) to get a flight stand included. I'd actually really be happy if Todd did something similar to the weapons packs and had a bundle of, say, 5 flight stands and a bunch of reused energy effects and constructs in new colors. Particularly red/blue/yellow but it'd be cool to see some stuff like Sinestro's in green.

I honestly think he should have use the Infected Superman body mold especially how it can match with Rebirth Superman and the solar suit Superman figures from McFarlane because the Dark Knight Returns body mold for Superman is a little too very buff for the Man Of Steel, Overall, Fantastic review on this figure Brad.

This one is the weakest "Collector Edition" figure yet , complete reuse except of the long hair and a statue of Krypto for a higher price? And in complete disproportion of head and body. Nope, this is not a good offer. Agree that those stands are bad idea, specially as more of these collector edition figures come out. I'd gladly trade even one extra hand instead of that useless hunk of plastic. And a flying character like Superman should always come with a flight stand. McFarlane is wasting money in producing quantity over quality

Krypto looks good. Superman looks bloated and his face is off. It's not attractive and his head is too small. The 2 pack Superman has a good face.
