Not at all. Bill is 72 years old. People forget that Bill Belichick wants the perfect situation. Bill wants a franchise QB. Bill is good for another five to seven more years. I heard Bill say he wanted to coach in a smaller market. There’s one team that always competitive and has a franchise QB. That team is also in a small market. That team is the Buffalo Bills. TB had 3 all-time qbs for competition that could actually win playoff games and MVPs and be consistent for a full season, multiple years running (with several other great QBs who could compete). don't get me wrong though, Mahomes could compete and would win in TB's era, I just don't think he would be as dominant as he is rn. His main competitors right now have major flaws in their game or approach (Allen is wildly inconsistent, Lamar struggles in the big ones because of playstyle, Burrow can't stay healthy because he's too casual, and the list goes on). And using the arguments of the Brady haters of the past, where's the consistency with Mahomes? he's had more loaded rosters than Brady ever had (except for 2007 maybe) with a HOF coach, who was making HOF before Mahomes even got there. An old joke: There was an American visiting London on business. One day, one of the British businessmen with whom the American was meeting suggested they go to a classic playhouse where, the American was assured, he would see "one of the greatest performers in Britain." That evening, they attended the packed venue. The lights dimmed, the curtain rose, and out hobbled a decrepit old man. The old player could barely croak out an outmoded song, stumbled around the stage trying to do a soft-shoe, and told the lamest, most unfunny jokes imaginable. After a mercifully brief performance, the old entertainer suddenly thanked the audience and shuffled off stage. The audience broke out with thunderous applause and cheering. Dumfounded, the American turned to his British host and commented, "What is this? The guy was terrible." Still applauding, the Brit smiled and responded, "Oh, but you should have seen him thirty years ago!" - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Hopefully, the point of the above story is not lost. Bill Belichick had four seasons after Brady left the Patriots to rebuild. The Patriots instead got progressively worse. (Yes, the Patriots managed to get a wild card spot for the postseason in 2021, and immediately got crushed by the Bills.) But all too many people insist upon remembering the glory years and ignore more recent events.
