Your comment beginning 19 minutes is one of the best sermons on the creation of God. The difference between the material and the spiritual.

It's interesting that he uses the informal "du" in this movement: ""Herr, du bist würdig zu nehmen Preis und Ehre und Kraft" and "Denn du hast alle Dinge erschaffen".

To be fair, God is always addressed as "du" in German. It's the same in English (hallowed be thy name) where "thou" used to be the informal 2nd pers. singular pronoun.

@@simonthelen5910 Interesting. Didn't know that.

To my mind: erschaffen is creating as in a continuous eternal process. Geschaffen is something made, and passing, ending, or ended. Does this make sense to anyone?

Musicologists must also be able to make a living. But there is little need to listen to an exhaustive analysis of a composition that is destined for our musical and emotional centers. To enjoy listening to a movement of the Brahms Requiem requires prior familiarity and concentration. But listening to this dissertation does not justify the effort of staying awake.

then why are you watching this?

A great analysis, truly. Inspiring! You lost me with the Anti-Darwinism which is not relevant. But otherwise well done.
