Fantastic orchestra! The perfect orchestral machine. Magnificent horn section, here still with Richard King on principal and Alan deMattia assistant. Bravi!

Another Wonderful Performance by The Cleveland Symphony Orchestra of Brahms Symphony No4, A Magical Night of Beautiful Classical Music .🎻🎼🎶🎼🌟🎺🎻💥🥰🎼🌹

Is Welser trying to make a big distinction between this performance and the Szell recording? Well, if so, he was successful in that regard. This sounds rushed...no emotion at all.

Welser-Möst has had such a horrible impact on the orchestra that they now play in mono. That's a joke. But seriously, someone here messed up with this upload.

Ad I'm not joking. The sound is mono.

Try the Furtwängler's rendition and you shall see this is considered slow in comparison.
@@user-szell8134szell Ah I see. Yes, I agree. The deep devastation of Brahms' 4th was not very vivid in this interpretation.

I am not really that familiar with Maestro Welser-Most, although I am quite familiar with the Cleveland Orchestra. Their sound is extremely beautiful. Unfortunately, sometimes the orchestra sounds somewhat disinterested with the music. However, that comment could be said about most orchestras from time to time. Orchestras are made up of human beings and they can be inconsistent. It happens in all professions. It especially happens in the performing arts. I remember a performance by the Czech Philharmonic in Miami that was just awful. Turns out they had flown in earlier in the day. Under those circumstances. what could you expect?
@JoeAnton-rl4ds3 ай бұрын
They are disinterested because the currency is worthless and this music is no longer fundable

OK performance , but nothing special. Very undercooled playing and no passion from the rather overrated Cleveland Orchestra. Good case is that Welser- Möst is leaving. Hopefully they will find a less boring conductor!

Geeze, how could someone listening to Brahms be so bitter and mean towards a mastero who has been with the Cleveland for good 20 years, a musician departing his post because of deteriorating health condition, a fellow human being who had a cancer tumour removeal surgery just a couple months ago ?!
@hectorberlioz14498 ай бұрын
@@DC-qd7uz This has nothing to do with what you are writing. Too bad for Möst, but I'm listening and watching this video and am justly disappointed. I played several times under Möst , also on tour, ( as a member of a leading Dutch orchestra) and we found him a mediocre conductor with a very pedantic and arrogant behaviour. The same thing I see here. There are so many people ill and sick including myself sometimes, so we should have no opinion anymore on whatsoever.... what a nonsense!

@@hectorberlioz1449 your reply has further revealed yourself and your characters unforrunately...its so sad seeing even professional musicians turning on each other like that

@@hectorberlioz1449 You sound like a miserable and pathetic person. Additionally, he's in demand all over the world and is an excellent musician. You seem bitter and jealous of his success.

When he was conductor of the London Philharmonic in the 90s, the city’s press pilloried him as being “frankly worst than most!”
