@tawdryhepburn46864 жыл бұрын
They Pre-sold the foreign rights to cover production cost, based on the gross of the first film. STX’s total exposure on the film was 3 million dollars (plus the limited P&A). There was a large financial upside for the film and minimal risk. However, in order to fulfill the terms of the presale contracts, the film had to receive a theatrical release in the US on X number of screens. So, that’s why.

So where did the buried Brahms come from? That was those olds people's property for at least 50 years or so....it doesn't make sense that "history of evil dolls bs". A prequel would've made sense showing the parents trying to find Brahms a caregiver and he keeps murdering them or a sequel with him finding Greta and trying to kill her. Could've been a good slasher but I guess not.

So, the Brahms demon is the ultimate cosplayer then? Did the director try to get over a break-up with someone like that? Or is he trying to point out the dangers of losing yourself within such make-believe identities? Yeah, definitely that last one. William Brent Bell is a visionary to keep an eye on in the future. He might even colab with Jordan Peele and give us the gift of 'Brahms & The Boyz', a profound exploration of identity and race. Already looking forward to it. Btw: Thanks for that wonderful review of yours. I didn't watch the first one, never planned on watching the sequel, either. But your dissection of it is pure entertainment. You guys are up there with Red Letter Media when it comes to turning unadulterated crap into heaps of guilty pleasure. And Martin's laugh counteracts the lack of Chuck Norris' … and might actually turn out to be the cure for cancer.
