Part of the roots are not below ground, this causes leaves to drop and the problem will grow worse overtime resulting eventually in death for the ficus.

+Kiwani Hi. Thank you for your opinion. However I don't think that slightly exposed roots are connected with the loss of the leaves. You can observe this in nature due to natural erosion of the soil and bonsai styles like 'roots over rock' without any ill efect on plant when the roots are exposed gradualy.
