Adams link, if you say Yoruba communities are jampacked, its because Yoruba is the most accomodating Tribe, so check its visitors who really jampacked Yoruba land.. we dey accomodating, check Sabo, Alaba, Ladipo, Tradefair... Check Ajegunle also.. its not really the Yorubas that jampacked their towns but visitors they accomodated.. 👍

I think if we're to decide the best dressed Nigerian Artiste at the 2024 Louis Vuitton Fashion Show, we'll have to derive our judgement based on the outfit that's more relatable. That is, the outfit anyone would feel comfortable wearing at any given point in time. And to me, that's Wizkid's because on like Rema and Burnaboy, he's not putting on any baggy gean or bogus jacket. It's quite simple and looks nice. And can be easily appreciated at first glance. The white pair of socks and sneakers just adds a nice finish touch to his clothes. It's very is sleek! 👍🏻

Ojude Oba is strictly an ijebu festival which started in IJEBU-ODE, and which mainly holds at IJEBU ODE.. Other towns and cities imitated this festival.. till date, Main OJUDE OBA still holds at IJEBU-ODE..

Local man is not much knowledgeable about yoruba culture in all honesty...A lot of his info are based off idea. Ojude Oba is a festival for the ijebus in ijebu ode. The Oba in question is the awujale of ijebu kingdom. Just like every people or place have their Odun (festival), Ojude Oba is an Odun but that is its unique name, way, time, venue and people. You can attend if you are not from ijebu but more or less you will need to associate yourself with them first which is not an issue as a lot of non-ijebus who like the festival do. You can attend with your non-ijebu friends, colleagues etc. But the most unique thing and enticing part is the elegbelegbe custom (i.e peeer groups and age groups wearing exact, same, beautiful and expensive outfits) which may be done in other festivals as well but may not stand out like this Ojude oba own. Other festivals in yoruba land are Durba (in Ilorin but this Durbar has more of a fulani root due to fulani incursions in ilorin back in the days), Osun osogbo in Osogbo town, Eyo in lagos etc.

Adamslink, come to SW of Yorubaland and see. Auchi your has Taxi service because of your Polythechnic. Come to any small town in Yorubaland without any higher instruction in Osun, Ogun, Ondo, Oyo and Ekiti state and you would find a taxi running there, not to talk of good roads, Houses, hospitals, schools etc. Honestly, whenever I have the time, I will take you round of SW Yorubaland and see.

As local man is from oyo state, the festival (Odun) that he must have attended is either the Oke Ibadan festival (ibadan hill festival) or Odun Egungun (masquerade festival) where the likes of Sango (god of thunder whose disciples spit out fire using some 'aided' tactics) or Ogun ( god of Iron), Oya (goddess of water) etc are celebrated. These ones are mainly done by traditional believers and majority Muslims and Christians will not partake. These festivals done here are completely different and not similar to Ojude Oba done in ijebu ode every year after the Muslim Sallah day (Odun Ileya). I don't think you will find any religious monument or performance be it christianlike or muslimlike or idolatry at Ojude Oba as majority of Omo Ijebus are people of the books (Christians and Muslims). Its just SOCIAL EVENT and NOT A RELIGIOUS ONE as the one Local man has described to have attended. and Ojude Oba (King's frontyard) is unique to one king (the Awujale of Ijebu Kingdom cos of the history of the event if you read up) and unique to the place (ijebu) and style (social-cultural). Other events exist but with differing names.

If you know Yorubaland very well, you will really be ashamed of your Edo state that day. And I can tell you this and if you believe it or not I am also from EDO state but grew in and know Yorubaland very well. Honestly, why do you think people migrate into Yorubaland from SS and SE into Yorubaland more that going to both regions? Honestly, I rest my case for now...
