"Oh, I just saw you do a little secret move there. Or did I?" My thoughts when he tapped the deck at 2:38. Also 1:37 "Wait, is this part of the routine or part of the tutorial?" :D
@Mike516895 жыл бұрын
I like this effect a lot. Nicely presented, nicely explained. An easier version would be to start off with having them shuffle. Take the deck back and pick the soulmates for each of the top 3 cards and lay them out left to right. Then for the first card, you do a thumb riffle down the top of the deck and tell them to stop, then proceed to doing a slip cut while laying the pile down next to the first card. Repeat the same for the second card. Then simply lay down the balance of the deck next to the third card. Now all the soulmates will be on the top of each “randomly” selected pile of cards. This would be my preferred method - less thinking on my part! Your version is excellent though, keep up the good work Nathan.

Sweet trick, thanks for sharing! To avoid the top 5 cards changing as you pull out the matches, you could pull out the matches to the bottom card first, then the top card, and THEN the match to the 5th card. By that point the 5th card has no chance of changing. Alternatively, nothing says you have to pick the match to the 5th card. You can just as easily pick the match to the 4th card, and deal 1 less card during the "demonstration" portion where you set up the left pile.
@kradrol5 жыл бұрын
You could also just count 1 card higher and pick the match to the 6th card, which would then become the 5th card after removing the other match from the top 5. Cutting the deck seems like the worst option for this problem. That would look really fishy to a spectator.

Great tutorial, but instead of cutting when you remove a match from top 5 and essentially starting over, just take a card from middle and add to top 2 to 4 as a replacement. Recap. Collect 3 piles in reverse order 3 on top of 2, 3-2 on top of 1. Scroll through until seeing 1st face up card which is 3rd card. Face down cards ABOVE it are placed on table. Go to NEXT, 2nd card and discard Cards ABOVE it (1st and only cards discarded). Go to 3rd actually first and square up to only remaining cards BELOW it. So ABOVE, Below (out jog the stack above) and BELOW.

BIG FAN of your work, all the way from South Africa 👍🌍 I really enjoy your videos and you sparked my interest in magic!! ❤️ And I love the deck of cards you're using and I would love a deck myself of theory 11 especially the Artisans Deck but they are way to expensive. Hey Nathan i know i'm late and you're probably not gonna see this but i really question the piles change move because although they might think they have access to all the piles but they're gonna notice that you clearly switch the positions of the piles. Just that one flaw bothers me great vid as always
@tuhlunksss11 ай бұрын
do you have to remove the jokers? it'll still work with 54 cards, yes? also, it'd be funny to find the match of the other joker, right?
@Idk-nj5zv5 жыл бұрын
It fooled me many times
@roopasiju51895 жыл бұрын
I have a doubt: suppose you are putting down the three piles and if one of them has the maximum number of cards, which can be noticeable then how to do the misdirection thing where you pick two piles and show that you are exchanging them. Wouldn't the spectator easily notice because one has more amount of cards than the other?
@shirinesleiman8775 жыл бұрын
whenever i perform this trick, i always make it look like i messed it up by turning the top cards instead of the entire packet at the end. makes the effect a little stronger

Instead of the cut in case of mates in the top five, could you not just only deal 3 instead of 4 during the “demo” phase and eliminate what could look like a sneaky cut?
@AMillionCardTricks5 жыл бұрын
Yeah that’s true actually! Didn’t really think of that, i guess some people are just nervous if a trick goes wrong and they can’t think on their feet and improvise.
@kradrol5 жыл бұрын
I would just pull the match for the 6th card. Once you pull the other match from the top 5. The 6th card is now in the fifth position. No needed to adjust your count for the demo, or to cut the cards.
@neuroxik Жыл бұрын
8:08 What if, as almost always, they ask "Okay do it again". How do you put the 1st 4 back without doing the explanation to them when they'll see something's off since they know, they just had the trick done for them p.s.: Amazing trick!

While doing the move, look them in the eyes and ask them if they are “happy with their shuffle” or something along the lines of “the cards are mixed right?” Just ask them a question while doing the move and they’ll look at your face 80% of the time

@AMillionCardTricks5 жыл бұрын
I think you’re talking about the invisible deck. It’s a special deck that the spectator cannot examine, but it is still very powerful! The packet switch looks kind of sketchy and the reshuffling after you take the packet looks suspicious. May work with one or two viewers but I'm thinking a larger audience may catch that. Have you tried it with a larger group? Otherwise it looks like a great trick just not sure if I would be confident pulling it off with too many watching.
