What I find most interesting is that players will roll into their opponent when said opponent is sitting still. Normally when an opponent is sitting still with no motion, that is your opportunity to create distance or try to punish them. However, it appears here that players tend to roll in, which realistically doesn't change too much about your positioning in regards to your opponent and clearly can leave you open. I wonder where this rolling in habit comes from if it's recurring like this?

You expect your opponent to approach you, so rolling will get you out of danger, and possibly give you an advantage because your opponent is locked in an animation

If an opponent sees you sitting in shield, they will usually either grab you, use a safe shield pressure option, or depending on the character, go for a shield break setup. All of those require the opponent to approach closer, so rolling into the opponent would normally place you in an advantageous position to punish their approach. Most people don't just sit there waiting, and rolling in on an approach option gives advantage as opposed to rolling away and going back to neutral, so yes many people would choose to roll in on a stationary opponent they assume is going to make an aggressive play on their shield

You're open to a counterattack and they can make any move they want from their idle stance. The logic still doesn't track for me. Could just be me.
