Kanami´s songwriting is not just beyond the planet, or solarsystem, it´s beyond the galaxy and far far beyond! SO creative, unique, versatile, complex and even with that complexity it´s CATCHY as hell! Besides Hans Zimmer, she is the most talented and best songwriter we are listening in our era! BUT without the band, the maids able to play this songs and ALSO adding some of their unique abilities it wouldn´t be the same, so it gets even better. I know a lot of other ppl or fans from other bands think otherwise, but i don´t care... They are the best!

With the Unseen World BluRay limited edition (don't know about the DVD), you get five different videos for each song in this format - one of the entire band playing, then one of each band member only. I believe they plan to do this again for a few songs on the upcoming DVD/BluRay of the Feb 11 Okyu-Ji.

The "No God" instrumental is pretty amazing also. MISA has a pretty sick bass solo in that one. Yes, they are all in that white room setting . The instrumentals of Onset, Dice, Domination, After Life, Giovanni, No God, and Without Holding Back all are.

Giovanni is the main character of "Night on the Galactic Railroad", a masterpiece of the famous Japanese novelist Kenji Miyazawa. Kobato Miku wrote the lyrics inspired by this novel. Story: Giovanni, a lonely boy, travels through the galaxy on a train with his best friend Campanella. There is a religious question as to what is truly happiness, a mixture of life and death. It is a very popular work in Japan, and there is also an animation that anthropomorphizes a cat.

Saiki's singing on the live acoustic version of "anemone" that directly follows the acoustic "Puzzle" is very emotional and expressive. Also, Kanami talks a lot just before they play the song, and you can see Saiki trying to get her to stop talking and start playing. It's very endearing.

So your brain deactivated after hearing the instrumental version of "Giovanni". Imagine what will happen after you hear the vocal-only version of this song. It's utterly insane. Saiki and Miku are shredding vocally through the whole song. Just look for Band-Maid Giovanni (Vocal Extraction). I'm still trying to recover.

Well, Miku has never just been a 'prop'....she created the band, writes the lyrics, and her vocals have always been integral, but yes, her playing has improved dramatically.....Kanami is a good teacher....

Well- he means on the stage not in general- we know she was always the leader and heart of the band. But she was just more or less holding the guitar and looking cute while doing backing vocals to start with :) Nothing wrong with that- what else are you gonna be when you just start off lol? But she has learned and become really good! I've always loved her voice too.

Doing the version of Giovanni with vocals would be cool. It's probably their most prog-ish song. I'm glad they released this version to really appreciate what is going on. Kanami is mixed back a little in the vocal version because Saiki is singing along to Kanami's frantic lead. This song really highlights what I love about Kanami's playing. Many guitarists play fast and it's sounds like a bunch of random notes. Kanami is playing a really cool and catchy melody that just happens to be really fast.

Yeah their special DVD Instrumentals are pretty sweet. For each song, there are 5 versions. One version focusing entirely on Misa, one on Akane, etc - and then the compilation with all four of them (like here). It's why sometimes you can see when switching from full-band to single person it doesn't quite match; it's because they are cutting in that segment from their solo view. But it allows you to singularly focus on watching whomever you want for the entirety of the performance. And they don't jump or move around either. So if you are trying to learn a part - it's perfect.

There are performances by each of the four member and all of them, and 20 tracks are recorded. The included Blu-ray of the special edition of "CONQUEROR" contains 15 tracks of instrumental songs of "ON SET", "DICE" and "DOMINATION".

I think I'm back in the 70's listening to YES, in a Metallica kinda way. This is PROG Rock if I ever heard it. These girls do it ALL, covering all genre's and many times they perform them all on one tune, with Kanami's song writing allowing it to blend like whiskey and ice, that's why I love watching reactors try and pin a musical genre on them, emphasis on TRY.....Phenomenal! When you run out of music videos to do, let us know and we'll recommend killer tunes that have no videos.....I'm sure we Maidiacs can come up with a few.

Anyone cares to explain how does this song work both with and without the vocals, and moreover, works differently with vocal than without vocals? That's not normal. I have the DVD. Yes all 4 instrumentals are shot in this white room. And you get focus cameras on each member. You can watch one of them play for the whole song if you want.

While i really like the full song with vocals, I can appreciate the instrumentals on this song a bit better not being drowned out by the relentless vocals on this song. Also to note on the stage format on these bluray releases. the Bluray allows you to play the video as you see it or switch to individual band member to focus on what they're playing, think the White stage makes it easier to do that kind of thing.

This song doesn't work for me. It has grown on me since UW dropped but it is still a song with an identity crisis. It tries too hard to be a prog song and doesn't feel natural. It DOES sound better without the vox though. It makes more sense to my ears.

This strikes me as odd.....most of the adulation for this band, these written comments, all read and sound very similar. ALMOST as though they were written by the same person....and unusual grammatical errors by people with English-speaking-sounding names. Claims that can’t be taken seriously - LOTS OF THEM. I looked up a name or two online, and can find no evidence that they actually exist. BeenVerified, Twitter, Facebook- that’s very strange. Now who would do that ? The same puppet-masters pumping music into the speakers at live shows for these musicians to strum their guitars to ? For money? Gross. If true, GROSS. The only thing they can’t manipulate? The music really isn’t very good. You aren’t fooling anyone. Go make an honest living - you’ll feel better.
