Jim Doty was a self-described juvenile delinquent raised in a violent and dysfunctional home when, at the age of twelve, he wandered into a magic shop and met someone who would change his life. Promising to show him REAL magic, a woman named Ruth would teach him what he later realized were methods of Eastern mysticism and higher consciousness awareness. Applying the techniques she taught him, he would transcend his disadvantaged childhood, go to college against all odds and end up a highly successful neurosurgeon teaching at Stanford University medical school. As a doctor he would learn that the truths Ruth revealed to him as a child are indeed the deepest truths of the human brain and heart.

I am so glad you discussed BOTH the personal and the political. I do not understand the heartlessness of politicians and business people. It breaks my heart.

Completely agree with everything. I was for Bernie, I didn't see him as radical at all but I was born and raised in Germany. I loved this conversation, not just for advice dealing with problems of poverty and hopelessness, but for the light you shed on compassion.

Wonderful conversation! I learned about you during your Presidential run. You are so impressive and too ahead of your time. I completely agree. Incremental change is NOT enough and I'm glad you held Dr. Doty's feet to the fire in that regard. I'll get his book for sure and must get your books. PLEASE keep up your work with these podcasts. Namaste

Great interview and this animal welfare activist LOVED the last question and answer. I don't understand how anyone eats meat or dairy, I stopped ten years ago and could never go back knowing what I now know.

There is so much good info in this conversation, but there are fundamental assumptions that are wrong. The firston one being that we have health-care in this country. We have disease care. We have to change our language on this.

Mind really means though and feeling together. That is what communicates. Mind that is mixed with thought only does not communicate as perception is not an attribute of Wholeness

Love your channel and I have 2 questions for you and your community 1. What's your definition for the state of FLOW 2. How do people get into the flow, or be the flow this is related to most of the people will have a phase or years which they felt trapped or unable to move forward from current situations. Thank you, btw, I use to go to your talks in Los Angeles with my coworkers, WE appreciate your work and your wisdom. XO

The people in the educational system should have seen this coming decades ago. I recall in the late 70s I began to notice things were made overseas, as a person that had dropped out of high school to work in a local factory, I was very concerned about this ! Jesus said the poor will always be with you, I would translate this in a modern world as, the uneducated will always be with you ! A way must be found to supply employment to working class people. These are the people that not only felt forgotten they in desperation voted for Trump ! I was NOT one of them, but i understand them somewhat ! We need a modern day Bobby Kennedy !

The clever coyote (greed) is always trying to catch the roadrunner (love). But never does. Because something that is not real (absence of love) can never catch that which is real (love). That coyote is a crazy clown... The roadrunner is the state bird of the Land of Enchantment. The land of magic (love).
